Default Need some game recommendations

I'm looking for some new adventures games.

First off, here is what I have.

The Three Agatha Christie games
Ankh
Barrow Hill
Blade Runner
Broken Swords 1, 2, and 4
Crime Stories/Martin Mystere
CSI 3 Dimensions of Murder. I've played the first two bog standard CSI as well as the Miami game.
Dead Reefs
Delaware St John volumes 1 and 2
Discworld Noir
Dreamfall
In Memoriam
Indigo Prophecy
Legacy Dark Shadows
Longest Journey
Sherlock Holmes:Rose Tattoo
Sherlock Holmes Awakened
Sherlock Holmes Mystery of the Mummy
Midnight Nowhere
Nightlong
Runaway
Runaway 2
Salammb
Sam and Max episode 1
Secret Files Tunguska
Undercover Operation Wintersun
Syberia 1 and 2
Still Life
Overclocked
Moment of Silence

*Whew*

I'm looking for something new, and I'm not keen on Myst or its clones. I'd also if possible like games that can work on a Vista system.

I'm also looking at Rhodan and Jack Keane and any opinions on those two would be welcome

You don't say what you thought of the games you list, so it's not obvious what to suggest, but if you liked episode 1 of Sam and Max, a good bet would be that you'll like the rest too.

An obvious omission from the list is Grim Fandango. I consider that a must-play game.

Well of what I've listed...

Ankh, it's okay, but something feels missing.
Barrow HIll, I've only played a little bit.
Most of the games there I liked.

Exceptions were...

Delaware St John, I was disappointed by these, so I won't bother with any more.
Crime Stories was decent enough, but a bit of a dry game to play.

I've already played all the Monkey Island games, and Grim Fandango, though I don't own them. I don't know if they work on Vista, and they are getting more difficult to get.

Jack Keane is okay, but I admit that I stopped playing it when The Lost Crown came out, as it took over my time and attention. I'd recommend that game, not sure about Jack Keane, though I'll probably get back to it eventually.

you actually liked Legacy Dark Shadows? I just finished it and thought it was very poor.

Black Mirror--not new but very good
Paradise--not sure if it will work on Vista
Secrets of Atlantis
most games by Kheops Studio

Paradise is supposed to work on Vista. Here's our thread about games working on Vista. There are some work-arounds for some, some work as they are and there's a link to an even longer list on GameBoomers (where Paradise is listed).

I enjoyed Culpa Innata, so you might try that one. Also Sherlock Holmes Awakened and the newly released Nemesis, Dracula: Origin and the two Penumbras may be a good choice for you as well.

Actually I didn't like Legacy, I should have mentioned that.

I wish that there was Sherlock Holmes games that were more like the two EA releases, as I found them enjoyable. Culpa Innata seems to be difficult to get in the UK.

I couldn't recommend Paradise, regardless of Vista or not. I don't think that I have encountered a game so bugged since QfG4. The only way that I was able to finish the game was to edit the save games to get passed the lockups -- the patch did not help. Then after all of that, even though the game's story was OK, the ending was a real let down. It just fizzled out. It was like Sokal got tired of it and just wanted to end the story. I can forgive a game for having a so-so story if there are no other problems. I can forgive a buggy game if it is otherwise a great game, at least if there are ways around the bugs.

Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis is thoroughly enjoyable, I think, and it runs great on my Vista machine. Since you have all the other Sherlock games I would highly recommend this one to you.
Scratches was ok.
The Experiment was good, though I didn't finish it.
