Completely 3D adventures
I'm looking for all games from adventure genre that are complitly 3D(characters and environments). Currently i know of: Ankh, Jack Keane, Sam&Max 2 , Uru and Experiment.
The games can be from underground developers. Game has to be a "pure adventure". (with out any action, except for the broken-swordish logic based action sequences, mini games can pass, if they are just mini games not like Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude a full game) List (so far):

Broken Sword 3 (The Sleeping Dragon) and 4 (The Angel of Death) are completely in 3D. The fourth installment of the Monkey Island Series is 3D, as is Grim Fandango.

You may not remember it but the game engine used for Realms of the Haunting also was used for a 3d adventure game called normality. Check it out, both games are awesome. (Engine wise, it was pretty revolutionary for the time. A mix of action and adventure).

I think that, here, we could open a can of worms: was MoE a true adventure? Does it belong to adventure genre? Was it even an installment in King's Quest series?
My answers are, obviously: NO, NO, NO. ... but sure, it's completely 3D (and not even a good one )

You could put Simon the Sorceror 3D on the list though.

The correct term for that is 2.5d. Alone in the Dark (original game and the latest one) can be considered adventure games. Its basically the WASD/Arrow keys of point and click games, except surrounding survival horror. Any survival horror can be an adventure game too. haha

Neither is Monkey Island 4 completely 3D, the environments are prerendered.
You can add Wanted: A Wild Western Adventure (aka The Westerner) to the list, though. |

List updated.
I'm sorry that i didn't state that the game has to be pure adventure. (with out any action, except for the broken-swordish logic based sequences, mini games can pass, if they are just mini games not like Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude a full game) Quote:

The Bone games and the two most recent CSI games are 3D (they use the same engine as Sam & Max).

There aren't that many pure 3D adventure games, are there?
As for KQ8, say what you will. Maybe it's not purely adventure since it has some action and even RPG elements, but I'll be the one to stick up for it. I think it's a great game, nonetheless. But that's another thread... Did anyone play The Ugly Prince Duckling? I'm not sure if it's 3D or 2.5D or what. |

Is Dreamfall a true adventure? Does it belong to the adventure genre? Is it even an installment of The Longest Journey series?
NO, NO, and what series? In defense of my earlier post, I'll say this: There's more game to play in any one of the KQ8 worlds than in the entire Dreamfall game. |
