Loom: where to buy it?
Is there a place where Loom can be had for less than the $70 I see on eBay?
Ironically, I had this game as a kid, only to lose it when my dad moved from one house to another. All the other games survived... only Loom vanished. As I just picked up another lost classic, Laura Bow: Dagger of Amon-Ra on eBay for about $4 with free shipping, I hoped Loom would be the same way. No dice. Any help? |

Amazon Marketplace has it for $40 for the PC version and $15 for the Mac version. Though the Tacoma Goodwill claims the Mac version they're selling is "IBM compatible." Let the buyer beware.
Amazon Marketplace is a great place to search in addition to eBay. A lot of times you can get stuff cheaper than eBay without the hassle of bidding, and shipping is almost always cheaper than eBay. |

I found it on Amazon for just $40. If your willing to pay as much as a new game then go for it!

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to play the Mac version on a PC by using ScummVM?

The Mac version has a high-resolution distaff and a hi-res font, but ScummVM doesn't use these and falls back on the original PC interface. |
