Carte Blanche offer - Sorted !
Can anyone who bought Carte Blanche through Play.com (UK company), please get in touch with me via Private Messages ? There's something important I need to ask regarding the USB stick offer and I'd rather keep it private at this stage.
Thanks. Last edited by Jacques l'aliéné; 01-15-2007 at 12:40 PM. |

Thankyou for your help. Problem sorted and scandal averted.
The first person to contact me and offer to help me out with much needed advice (In fact, there was only one ! ), on how to tactfully 'nudge' G2Games into action over an apparently fictitious USB stick gets my spare copy of Carte Blanche as promised (you know who you are). Much appreciated J.. It's in the post. |

Could you elaborate? I bought the UK edition, but I didn't bother applying for the stick. How did you find out it's fictitious?

Hi Sciere.
It's not established that my USB thingy is fictitious . . . . yet ! That's why I said "apparently". Finally ............ someone has contacted me. Whether the thingy arrives remains to be seen. I get the feeling that the assumption was that very few people would bother applying, especially as the reply slip was so un-pen-friendly (shiny, shiny paper), that it was very difficult to write on legibly. I sent it recorded delivery, so I know it got there in early December. Not long after the game went on sale. G2Games haven't replied to around half a dozen messages I've sent them via their support route, nor via ordinary Email. To be fair, the game's developer has contacted them as well for me and, I think, as a result of that, they have made initial contact - yesterday. I know I'm going to a lot of trouble over the offer, but it's a matter of principle now. Not receiving it with the game (nothing to say beforehand that it wasn't to be in the packaging), making claiming it difficult by providing a small slip of glossy paper to fill in your details, and not responding to the claim and the follow-up enquiries, has got me peeved enough with the marketting company as to ask here if anyone else had had a similar experience. So NO ! It wasn't about porn this time. Last edited by Jacques l'aliéné; 01-16-2007 at 11:44 AM. |
