Default Games like Murphy

I'm new here. My favorite games are the Tex Murphy series games because they involve real actors within the game along with sloving a mystery. Can anyone suggest any other games that do that same thing?

Decent FMV adventure game list:

Black Dahlia
Gabriel Knight 2: The Beast Within
Dark Side of the Moon
Byzantine: The Betrayal
Spycraft: The Great Game
Rama (less FMV than the others)

The X-Files Game.

It's definately worth getting if you're a fan of the series and accessible for people who aren't as well. Although it's slightly short and light on the puzzles.

I would definately recommend The Beast Within and Black Dahlia. By the way Black Dahlia consists of 8(!) game discs. Biggest game I own...

I wouldn't recommend Rama though. It doesn't have a lot to do with adventure gaming I'd like to think of it as more of a puzzle game like the 7th Guest and 11th Hour. However if you're into math you'll gonna have a blast with Rama. If you're lucky you might even find Rama with the Rama II Book included in the game box. Certainly worth a read.

Thanks for the responses. I have the Gabriel Knight series and do enjoy The Beast Within but do not have any of the others listed here. I'll try them out.

Errrr.... neither of those is Full Motion Video, ragnar. Last Express uses some beautiful slow-frame rotoscoped animation. Rost Tattoo uses "sprites" of actual actors animated against a 2D background. This technique is also employed in Toonstruck and Riddle of Master Lu

I know. But they both involve real actors combined with solving a mystery and that is what was asked for in the initial question. He didn't specifically asked for full motion video games.

I don't really like Blade Runner but some people do.

You could also try Zork Nemesis and Zork: Grand Inquisitor. Both contain FMV and are really great games.

If you need more persuading, Zork Nemesis is in my top 5 games of all time along with the following games containing FMV: Spycraft, Pandora Directive, Black Dahlia.

You could also try Ripper, starring Christopher Walken. I'm yet to play that myself and hope to get it one day soon.

I'm almost certain you will like Black Dahlia if you like the Tex Murphy games. Just forgive the difficulty of some of the puzzles - believe me, you won't have been challenged like this since playing Pandora Directive, except this game is much more difficult but just as satisfying as far as I'm concerned.
