Grim Fandango, Escape from Monkey Island, Simon The Sorcerer 3D, Fahrenheit, Hitman series (if your definition of adventure games is rather broad) and so on and so forth

Ankh (point and click), Schizm 2... I'm pretty sure this thread was started a few weeks ago by someone else?

Don't forget Gabriel Knight 3 and the Bone games. I sadly haven't played the Tex Murphy games but have heard references to their 3Dness. Grim Fandango and Escape from Monkey Island aren't full 3D, but rather 3D characters on 2D backgrounds.

The only truly 3D videogame that I can think of (i.e. stereoptic images are viewed by both eyes to produce a sense of depth) is a vector-graphic tank game that was in the arcades in the mid-'80s. I think it was called Battlezone. There must have been others. Why haven't there been any adventure games using this simple technique? Are 3D glasses too expensive to include in a jewelcase?

The only truely 3D games I can think of are:
Gabriel Knight 3 Myst 5 Uru Beyond those, it's pretty much all 2.5D and 2D, as far as I've played. |
