Player created scenes for an adventure game
My partner has the idea to offer to adventure players the opportunity to contribute to further versions of our game by letting them create game worlds.
Some of these worlds would be selected for inclusion in upcoming releases of the game with the creators of the worlds getting free copies of the new version. How many of you would consider this opportunity? Any and all comments appreciated. P.S. The game (Scavenger Hunter) takes place on different worlds (along similar line to the linking books from the Myst series). If the current version (to be released this year) is popular, we would like to create another similar game. P.P.S - This poll cross posted to GameBoomers and Just Adventure

Are you just looking for world concepts or a full design? I find the general idea intriguing but lack the programming skills and time needed to create a fully-fledged environment.
As a further issue are there any limitations on the worlds? Would a series of floating islands be out due to the main character lacking any flying ability for example.

We would try and provide the required modeling and rendering software for creating the worlds as well as templates and tutorials for using the programs.

Sure, why not? (Although, knowing me, my levels would end like all the maps to strategy games I ever started making: half-finished and abandoned. ) The problem I see with the question is that we have only very basic idea how your game will look and play like, though. I understand that the concept is pretty open, but still, considering designing additional levels is difficult when we have hardly seen the original game (except the short demo).
Oh, and I'm moving this thread to Adventure, if nobody minds.

Yes, I must admit I was pretty vague in the initial post.
The game (I realise the demo is quite small) is designed in a similar manner to the linking books from Myst - that is, there are mulitple 'worlds' that can very easily be totally different from each other and still fit in with the story line. The game only uses a few from a larger library for each game. We would provide some templates, tutorials, the freeware render program but still need to sort out details with the wireframe modelling program (Moray). Even a basic framework or half finished world would probably not be an issue since we could fill in the missing pieces.
