Default that Sam & Max interview

Thanks to remi and AG news for pointing out this interview with Mike Stemmle to me (sorry if you've already read it or there's already been a thread):

Read this interview!! That means you!

Another decent chunk of reassuring and exciting news about Sam & Max: Freelance Police. Thank god. Let's get two things out of the way now, to shut people up for good :

1) Yes, the game looks like it's going to be totally classic Sam & Max as far as the story and dialogue and stuff goes. Kick ass!

2) It's point and click. Now be quiet. Again, unless LucasArts is promoting some massive lie here with all this press, from now on anyone who refers to Sam & Max 2 as an "action/adventure" or "action game" will be promptly panned out of the forum.

I'm excited

I can't wait for more information about this promising title. I hope LucasArts releases some new stuff soon!

I hope there'll be a tennis mini-game.

No, seriously, I'm very excited about Sam and Max 2. I've always enjoyed Mike Stemmle's games.

this really is the best news i have heard for about 5 months. i expected it to be a monkey island 4 kinda affair, but it is gonna be a point abnd click. if this is successful, the genre will be re-born and point and click will be back, BIG TIME. great news.

to be honest i seriously doubt that, gabriel knight 3 was a complete success, and i think sam and max 2 will be much better.

Sounds great, although I'm missing some in-game screenshots. Isn't it supposed to be released sometime in the next few months?

Hmm...
That was intended as an amusing anecdote.
Anyways, I too am looking forward to the game (Of course). Especially to see how point and click and 3D gel together.

no i mean that gabriel knight was a complete success in the way they ported over 2d to 3d, but still kept the point and click interface. it was done to a great level, which sam and max can only improve on

Now, that's what I love about LucasArts' adventures.

On the other hand, the idea of a Tennis mini-game is rather tempting too.

well a tennis mini game could very well fit into the Sam and Max atmosphere (if golf does, why not tennis?) And let's face it, it would be just the coolest thing ever to have an AG injoke in there

In any case, though, good news, though I never doubted the game would be great for a second

I wouldn't be surprised if the game was delayed, (isn't EVERY game these days) however, I am eagerly anticipating this game, seeing as the original game was probably my favorite in the adventure genre! Some of the jokes have lasted with me to this day and to me, it defined 'Lucasarts adventure game'.

If anything can reinvigorate this genre, and for that matter, rekindle people's interest, then this is it!

Broken Sword was a fantastic game, but I truly believe that this game has the mark of something special.

I'll reserve full comment until I have it on my desk and have played it through to the end.

But, I have faith...

whatever happens, it is sam and max, making a comeback. i will pay full price upon seeing this beauty, and will enjoy every minute. if it is funny as the original, (and it will be) i will love it. especially if whack a rat came back in full 3d!!
