Default Simon the Sorcerer 4

Simon the Sorcerer 4 is a game I am looking forward to BIG time. There seems to be a major lack of information about it though. All I know is that its going to be 2D point n click. Anyone heard anything else? Hopefully this is going to be a return to form, Simon 3D was an absolute travesty - an insult to the first 2 games.

I still haven't played my Simon 3D copy. It's still in my bookcase glaring at me

I don't think there's anything worth getting excited about yet, it seems to be a trend for developers to announce something before it's actually in development (Beneath A Steal Sky 2), and then we just get disappointed when it's scrapped.

It will be in 3D, actually. Or it's supposed to be, anyway, because as The Seed said, there is no way of saying if the development has even started yet.

Not scrapped as such, the design is there on paper, but it's not currently in production.

I'm vaguely uninterested in Simon 4 at this point, but that's mainly because the developers, Silver Style, have done nothing to convince me that they're any good yet. I look forward to seeing some stuff about it, ming you.

I can't really understand how you can shift from "looking forward to BIG time" to "officially forgotten about" in a matter of minutes, given that you know NOTHING ELSE about it. But it's your choice, I guess.

read the post, I discovered that it was going to be in 3D, which brings back horiffic thoughts of Simon 3D.

It just pisses me off that these people dont learn their lesson, and dont listen to what the guys who actually BUY these games think.

Ummm, calm down man. As earlier posts have said, this game may not even be in development or might be 3 years off still. We know nothing. Anyways, there are plenty of cases of 3d done right. Just because we have heard that it will be 3d does not necessarily mean that it will be a direct control, arcade sequence platformer or anything. I can’t understand why you would assume since we heard that it would be 3d they are automatically making Simon 3D 2. So, chill man. The developers didn't run over your puppy… they made very vague claims to be supposedly working on a new Simon project that is rumored to be 3d.

Perfectly calm mate, i simply reacted the same way as a Half Life fan would if they did Half Life 3 as a side scrolling cartoony platformer.

That make you feel a bit more reasured dazsin?

I willl never understand why is simon 3d considered that bad. I understand that it has it's flaws but i think most people exaggerate.
Personally i really enjoyed it and i would take it over some of the recent adventures that came out.

Even though I never finished Simon 3D, because at one point I just stopped and never got to it again, I consider it fairly good. It was ugly, granted, and the puzzles were atrocious, but I liked the atmosphere really much.

So, knowing this and taking into account the fact that I absolutely loved Simon 1 and 2, you'll easily understand that Simon 4 is the game that I'm the most thrilled about, even though there's still nothing other than the name to be thrilled about yet.

what, because of the perspective, because you seemed REAL pissed off when you found out simon 4 was in 3d.

Unfortunately, Headfirst Productions went bust, so I don't know how that will affect the game. Not in a good way I would imagine.
