Woah! I just found this sweet shareware Adventure Game I doubt anyone has heard of.
It was on apple.com, and being both a mac and user and an adventure game lover, I decided to check it out. It's Mysterious Island 2. The game was designed by one guy. There's also one other person listed in the credits as playing one of the characters, but there aren't any voiceovers. Other than that, there's just one guy who made the gorgeous music.
Anyway, the game starts rather uniquely. It definately feels like a classic 90's adventure game, especially in the form of Myst. I've never been a fan of Myst, but this game is very strangely addicting to me. The graphics are top notch coming from just one guy, and the visual art design is extremely well done. One of the greatest features is it's simplicy, not in puzzles, but gameplay. You will never need the keyboard as it's clearly said in the Readme that comes in the game. The story is weird, as it sounds directly out of something from a sci-fi shoot-em-up. You play a Navy Officer who finds hes submarine sunken, and straided on a deserted island. As you explore deeper and deeper you'll find that aliens inhabit the island. I actually haven't SEEN the aliens, but I've read about them and seen their technology. So far, the game seems to a keeper. It's only a 15-day free trial, so I'm going to try to get as much out of it as I can. |

Figured I'd provide a link since there wasn't one in the original post. Looks pretty interesting, too bad I don't use a Mac. EDIT: Beat me to it Candle... By less than a minute too!

Haha, thanks guys. It really is interesting. It's not worth getting a mac for, but's it definately a unique experience.

Hmm...actually, I just managed to die of loss of water when walking through a long goregous desert, after being teleported into a alien facility and shooting their leader. However, after dying the credits popped up and apparently the main project leader did have four or so other guys helping him, although he was behind most of it.
Still, very rather interesting. |
