Ack!!! That's some screenshot to post! That particular scene isn't going to bring back many fond memories for anyone.

That scene:
Rest of the game:

Easily one of the worst dead ends ever!

At this point I thought the game was going to be about werewolves.
Actually, what was the point of this entire part? (the mine-part, that is)

And yes, this was quite a cruel dead-end for me, I had to download a savegame in order to finish this part.

I was enjoying this game, until he emerged from there. Could never aim the gun fast enough.

The Pixel Hunting:Re-re-reloaded before that scene was fun, too.
Spoiler:
(That, and the retarded lever puzzle. A killer combo). Bad thing is... it got even worse in that one section near the end of the game.

It's a charming game, overall. Just far, far away from game of the year material. Nice E.A. Poe atmosphere, though!

I REALLY enjoyed this game, despite it's puzzle engine flaws. I never encountered any dead ends though. I thought I did once with the Astrology puzzle, but it was only me sucking.

Very good game, mostly thanks to its atmosphere.
There was only one dead end (in this screen), but I walked into it too.

Even though the wolf kills you if you don't get him, I still felt awful when I shot him and he cried.

I really can't make up my mind as to whether to purchase and play The Black Mirror or not. For every positive comment I see about the game someone brings up the atrocious voice acting or a whole plethora of other flaws...

That's exactly how I feel too. They've almost convinced me to get Still Life, but I'm still very undecided about that one.

Actually, ditto on Still Life. Apparently the game is good, but it apparently also has an incredibly obtuse puzzle and one of the worst endings of all time.

And then they go and declare these games AG of the year ...

That is pretty much the feeling you get while playing it. Personally I didn't find the voice acting to be bad, just...very...very...slow. That did add to the atmosphere (silent ticking of the clock while an old man is mumbling on about your family's history)

WHAAAAT? You haven't played Still Life?? What are you waiting for, move, move! It's in budget, or at least in compilations, and the french voices are very good.

EDIT: There is one stupid puzzle, and one that was too hard for me, among dozens of others puzzles.
And I loved the ending, myself, perhaps partly because I expected it to be abrupt.
It's not my game of the year because there's no competition, it is because I loved it.
