You'll need to cross more than that for a Talkie version of MI2.

Is it technically possible to do it though? I mean disregarding the legality of hacking the source code but can it be hacked for ScummVM?

It may just be a pipe dream but a damn good pipe dream

Unless Dominic Armato and Earl Boen (that's his name isn't it?) is in it, I wouldn't want a talkie-version. An amateur talkie-version? No thanks.

I think someone demoed this for a very short section of Monkey Island 1. Doing all the voices themselves. Maybe you can find it.

Be warned though, it will make you cry.

Actually, I would rather have a lot of people than MI3's Guybrush to dub MI1 and MI2. I really didn't think it fitted.

i dont think voice acting in ither MI 1 or 2 would fit, the dialog is realy ment to be read, not spoken. i whish i has an example of this. it just would'nt sound rite if it was read outloud if someone was actualy talking for guybrush

Hell yes it works, Doug Lee is the Indy of adventure games. I really hate the new guy in Emperor's Tomb.

This thread constantly popping up reminding me that there is no, and never will be, a talkie version of Monkey Island 2 is mean.

Actually, I have no idea why you all whine so much about a talkie version of a game released back in 1992. I think it's great without any voice pack. Time changed and they added speech in later games like DoTT, FoA and S&M.

It would just be weird playing MI2 with speech, when we've played this game a lot of times without getting bothered once.

It's a classic. It's old. Deal with it.
