LOL!
I`d say Sanitarium is a 3/4 or isometric game. Check my screenshot in an earlier post to see what I mean when I say "birds-eye" or "overhead" graphics. |

So since your using the source engine does this mean there could be a possibility of you making a multiplayer adventure?
and perhaps support for custom models?

hehe - I really didn`t mean to cause this much confusion!
I`ll be making my levels using Worldcraft (the Source level editor) and then going round the level (in-game) taking screenshots from above. I`ll then import these into Wintermule (my engine of choice from what I`ve seen) and THAT will be the engine - not Source. Hope that clarifys things a bit. PS. I`ve already had the idea of online adventure games and thought about it quite a bit. I reckon it could work if planned well enough, and it would be quite a cool experience. |

Overhead graphics wouldn't put me off at all, if they're well used.
Dreamweb is a good example of how to use them to give a great atmosphere (regardless of the game's quality).

Excuse my ignorance but what is overhead graphics?
Although I'm put off by any of the old style adventures (1992 or earlier). They all seem to lack atmosphere. Not that they can be blamed. |

Just looked the game up and know what you mean now. 'Another Code' for the DS looks good - I'd buy that if I still had a DS so, I guess it wouldn't bother me. Have you played the very first 'Legacy of Kain'? That was overhead too.

So, for me overhead graphics work (as long as they are well done of course). |

Your screenshot faintly reminds me of Commandos, though that had an isometric view. But it worked very well.
