Thoughts? Comments? Have people been swayed not to invest money in the game because of this review?

I have only gotten to the point where I play as the rude Bone character for the first time. I agree with much of what you say, except for the graphics. Considering this is a 75MB download, the graphics are well done. They could be better, but then you'd be downloading a much larger game.

That'd be Phoney. I was going to mention the small download, but the paragraph was axed by my editor. So, it's not really my fault.

Funny, since the small download is one of the game's selling points.

You know what they say (DSL users, that is) :
The bigger, the..

Good review. I didn't get what all the Bone fuzz is about from the trial, though. So I'm still hesitating (like I'm always doing - ex-college student and such..). *sigh* And I don't know how that PayPall stuff works anyway.

Is that the reaction you were pitching for?

Paypal is just a means to pay for things online with your credit card. You don't even need a Paypal account. All you need is a credit card. Simple as that. Of course if you want to use Ebay, you will want to register for a free account with Paypal.

People are really beating this game in 2 hours? Yikes.

Nope, merely interested. If I wanted to sway people from buying it, I would have scored it in the 5s or low 6s. As it stands, I thought 7.2 was a rather "in-between" score.

*looks at screenshots* tsk.. tsk.. tsk. Only if the game supported higher resolutions. What a pity.

edit: And oh yeah, great review. Well, at least I enjoyed your writing style.

As a major fan of adventure games, I was thoroughly dissapointed by this game (the demo; not the full game mind you). With stiff animation and graphics poorer than adventure games released 6+ years ago, the only chance for it to be a major success is if Telltale had access to a time machine and travelled before the days of Grim Fandango.

lol, sorry to get out of topic. Anyway, to answer your question, no, it didn't make me sway from investing money in the game. I would buy it regardless of what I think about it. Why? to support the development (the more the profit = the more the budget) of S&M 2. Major Sam and Max fan here you see.

You have to understand that supporting higher resolutions is pretty pointless if the geometry and texel to pixel ratio is done for a certain resolution...
What is important is antialiasing!
I'll take a 800*600 16x antialiased image any time against Ă* 1600*1200 non antialiased image.

Escape from Monkey Island didn't let you change the res either, yet no one complained. Mind you this was probably because they were too busy complaining about the rest of the game

But let's be fair, high resolution 3D engines weren't the norm at that time.

No, we complained about that too. Don't worry.

I guess you can say that, if you've never played a game at 1600*1200...

BTW, AudioSoldier, I was slightly puzzled, stylistically, by your use of plural when refering to yourself.

(Thats' why well done screenshots in games today are rendered at insane resolutions and resampled to avoid all these artifacts)

Amped IGO has a policy of not using the first person. Silly, I know, but nothing I can do about it.
