I am so looking forward to this game - I love Tim Burton;
and The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all-time favourite films!
And - I am glad it's not coming out on PC because I feel consoles are more suited to this type of game
I don't know why, but I prefer action/adventures on consoles - maybe it's because they are easier to control.

PC's are much more suited to the RPG and FPS genres

I agree that consoles are probably better for controls for such games. But unfortunately, consoles doesn't last. While a given console could usually last almost as long as a PC, a PC could be customised to try and run older applications. Consoles on the other hand, especially the older consoles, are at the mercy of the manufacturer to gauge whether or not to make their newest state-of-the-art console backward compatible or not.

I'd already suffered so much heartache when the whole Sega venture into console failed, leaving my thousands of dollars worth of games sitting on my shelf, looking back at me. That's a big reason why I'm not willing to invest so much in console games these days...

When was the last time you've seen a game by Capcom on the PC?
Resident Evil 3, Dino Crisis, and MegaMan Legends. Don't know if they ever followed that trio up or not.

I normally don't keep console games for very long anyway, I usually sell them on ebay or trade them in for other games. Looking at my shelves now, they are mostly full of pc games (rpg's and ag's mainly) which I will replay from time to time. The only console games I tend to keep are the ones I know I will replay, like fighting games and the odd racing or rally game.

BTW aren't the PS3 and XBox 360 backwards compatible?

First one yes with 95 % of the games or something in that ballpark.

Second one, only with the top selling games.

Sony and Microsoft ain't obliged to make them backwards compatible. To them, it's only a goodwill gesture to the loyal fans, thus leaving us consumers to their mercy. And frankly, how long would this kind of gesture last? It's not as if Sony and Microsoft aren't notorious for screwing around with their consumers...

It also makes commercial sense. They still want to be able to sell their leftover PS2 and XBox games when the new consoles come out.

Selling of the old games may not be enough to get a development team to ensure/troubleshoot the older console games on the newer console. If the sales cover the troubleshooting team and more, then kudos for the good commerical sense.

Capcom and Disney are teaming up to make a video game sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas that will have you assuming the role of the Pumpkin King as he attempts to reclaim Halloweentown from Oogie Boogie.

but... wasn't Oogie Boogie killed in the end of the movie? Or are they talking about final action scene?

He returns and I think there' some kind of new "threat". I'm kind of distancing myself from knowing too much. TNBC is one of my all time favorites, and one of the great movies, and I'd like to stay a little pure going in.
