hey, folks, he's gone, let's keep it cool....

as far as I'm concerned, there are two possible explanations here,
either

a) mr. victim was right and there's this huge AG forum conspiracy to harrass him in various subtle and inconspicuous ways or

b) he's overreacting and needs to leave this place for a while

I'd go with b), since I've been coming to this forum for 6 years and trust it like a lap-dog.

Anyway, for those who pity Kyrandian, I suggest reading through his posts before passing on judgments.

Well, I did, and though I see what you mean, I must add that I've witnessed worse offenses on the forums. I think AG's forum moderators are getting a little stricter these days. Not much, but still.

Any forum requires moderation if things get out of hand. In this case it did and it doesn't take much to look up why. This whole situation could've been avoided if it weren't for Kyrandian childishly blocking SamNMax. Despite Sam apologising, Kyrandian went on the offensive baiting him in nearly every thread he created even though he had blocked him, before exploding like a "victim" on the AG forum. If he hadn't had blocked him, Sam would've had his apology get through.

Truth is, if you act like a troll expect to be treated like one. I can't respect anyone that victimises others and then uses underhand tactics to try to get the mods to side with them, you wouldn't like it outside of the forum and wouldn't tolerate it either. The mods DID their job in this case and to be honest, AG, as JA+, has just the right balance.

Well, to be fair, SamNMax could have just ignored Kyrandian, after the first clash occured.
But hey, the guy is just banned for 30 days, so it's not that big a deal.

Maybe, but he's 14! And doing great chatting away on this forum. He could've ignored him, but for heavens sake - Kyrandian is over 20 years old.

Let's drop it before I get blocked.

Once more, for the record, no one was banned because of the issue you all seem fixated on. There was plenty of blame to go around in that, and threads were closed, wrists were slapped, and life went on as it always does. That SHOULD have been the end of it. But no. Kyrandian started his own thread specifically to announce he was leaving, and to give us the one-fingered salute on his way out. Given the fact that he had a history of abusive behaviour on the boards (starting long before this latest one), this came as no surprise. So we tacked on an imposed cooling-off period.

Seriously, you have to TRY to get in trouble around here. Some people are determined to do so. It happens.

Um... didn't you see that "no barking like a dog" clause in the user guidelines when you signed up?

Boy, you are so going to die horribly in much pain now! Don't you know that Jack is the alpha male around here? He will put you in your right place just like he does with all the young pups who look to take over his harem.

As long as he doesn't mark his territory on me, I can live with it.

*What they don't know is that they are all part of Jessica's universal ruling of the world. What will happen when they find out? We are curious.*

I don't know when you consider "these days" started, but I suspect you refer to the times before I joined, so I can't really compare. All I can say is that I believe the mods are liberal enough now. And this is coming from a guy who thought (and still do, actually) that BJ shouldn't have been banned.

On second thought, Kyrandian and me did clash swords, so to speak, early on his career. So maybe I'm not objective and should have restrained from commenting on the matter. But it's too late.

[public service announcement]

We handle everything around here on a case by case basis. I can understand why one would think that this situation was handled differently than, say, the BacardiJim situation -- because it was. Not because one person got preferential treatment over another, but because every time this sort of thing comes up (which is thankfully not very often), the only way to really deal with it is to look at the unique circumstances and try to resolve them. Dealing with forum ickiness is never fun, and I hope no one is under the delusion that we enjoy closing threads, or anything like that. It sucks, and I wish it never had to happen.

I just want to reiterate that the mods are just people and fellow forumites, and if you're ever concerned about something one of us has done, you can PM me or one of the other mods about it. We don't bite. (Not too hard, anyway!)

That's it. Back to the dogfights.
