Not exactly 'playing', but I am watching the Wok-World Cup right now. Joey Kelly (of the "Kelly Family") has the fastest time. He even beat the time of Schorsch Hakl (Hakl Schorsch)! And this year he didn't even have to put lead into his trousers like he did last year (that was in order to be heavier, so the Wok would be faster).
Hakl Schorsch had prepared a special Wok, made of the kind of steel that's used for the runners of a Bobsleigh. That Wok weighed 35 kg - Stefan Raab did not allow him to use it, though. Everybody has to use the same materials. -

Even more unfortunate, I have a choice between watching the performance online - I had a quick look earlier and RealMedia + music = weep - or watching it on a horrible portable TV on Freeview. Bah! Still, just to reiterate, the album itself is great. |

Santana - Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile)
One of the most classic Santana songs, and for a reason. (Edit): Wow, it's been hours, many hours, and no one has posted since. Oh well, now I'm playing the song I just downloaded... *drums* ... Mr. Bean Theme Yes. It's excellent. The only thing that's wrong with it is that it's very, very short, only 35 secs Also, Black Adder has a great theme too, but in a different way (well, obviously since it's a totally different song..). Plus-Tech Squeeze Box - Rocket Coaster
Reminds me of Cornelius, which is great.

"Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space" (album) by Spiritualized.
It sounds as though it has the potential to be GR8, but the CD is dynamically compressed to buggery and it's dangerously close to being... a noise. Such a shame! |

I'm really getting into podcasts now you mention it, good for any travelling I have to do by myself. Anyone got any recommendations? I'm a big movie fan so I usually listen to Brian & Benns movie talk show, and our own Mark Kermode.
As for music, I'm rediscovering Foo Fighters' first album. Fingernails are pretty, fingernails are good!

Again no one has posted... Man, this should be 'Thread Must Die'...
Anyways, now playing Ottmar Liebert & Carlos Santana - Sampa Pa Ti (Acoustic Version). The original one is an amazing song, obviously one of the best of Santana, and this is an awesome version, at least as good. It really different though, so it's not exactly comparable. |
