Valentine's Day sucks!!!

I used to love Valentines Day when I was living with my ex - it was great
We would buy silly presents for each other, decorate the house with candles and flowers, drink wine, watch some sloppy movie and then......

But now I can't stand it - it's just another way for unscrupulous traders to make loads of money at the expense of the gullible public

Love will always have that effect on us. Cheer up, dear.

I already mailed my valentines card yesterday...

Tell me, why is it that whenever single people share their displeasure with things like Valentine's Day, it's not because they have a genuine case for not liking it? It's because they're lonely and bitter.

I mean, I understand that we have differing opinions on this, but you don't see me going around mocking you romantics for being foolishly optimistic and out of touch with reality.

I admit I hate fathers day because I'm not a father.

No, we don't.

Yes yes, I know that was intentional. I was just so proud that I noticed it...

But I don't see romantics bashing or mocking anyone. Maybe I just don't have the sensitivity to notice. Or maybe you have issues.

Baby, when you're in love and are loved, that's the best reality there is.

And mag, why so defensive? After all, I was single for 8 years!

Besides, fvck this. If V-day is just another excuse to spread love, why not?

Dammit, you made me look stupid with your edit! D'oh!

Hey, that rhymes...

I'll strike back with an edit of my own!

Hey, my point is simply that there are perfectly valid reasons for not liking Valentine's Day that have nothing to do with not having a significant other.

Yeah, it shares the day with National Impotence Day (in the UK). [ I'm not making that up]

This day is not really exploited celebrated here in my country, but you are made aware of it through the radio and stuff.

And no, I don't really have anyone to share it with, as usual.

I don't like Valentine's Day, either. Because I don't like those kind of prescribed, organized things... you can't plan emotions with a calendar!

But then again, maybe I just got used to disliking V-day, because I was single for all too many years? Maybe it's but a Pavlovian reflex?

I left my ex on V-Day [weekend] almost 8 years ago after I i made him a celebratory dinner and all and he more or less gave me the sign the next morning that I had very little room in his life anymore after 5 years together.
