Yeah I can definately agree on both sides of the fence, but for some reason at the end of the day I still love it. True, the ending to 1 was... well, pretty terrible, and I never did finish the pirate boat sequence in 2 (which I'm told is pretty much the end of the game), but... I dunno, for some strange unknown reason I still enjoy Brian's company. He's really just a comic book representation of the young nerd's adventurous desires (in more ways than one I suppose), and I can't help but love him for it. I think the developers know it and just have fun with the idea.

I actually enjoyed the narration in the first too - Brian in a chair, black background. It was something new and it kind of toyed with itself. Come to think of it the narration used in part 2 kind of had a nice effect for me as well. It just got me more determined and curious to know why he was so panicked/enthused, and why the hell he was somewhat bald.
