Nope. :) I think the death penalty had been abolished in Britain long before the events of BS1 took place.

EDIT: That was for tsa.

And gray pierce: you're right!

The fact that BS1 isn't situated anywhere near Dartmoor makes this also a very unlikely possibillity.

Funny thing though if Holmes wouldn't have paused to assess the situation he might've been able to save Moorehead.

Btw: did you see that great new series by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss?

Let's try an easy one(I think)
"Why didn't I kill him?"

Madskull 08-17-2010 01:31 PM

how about a little hint gray?

gray pierce 08-18-2010 12:13 PM

You ask for one I give you a couple!

1: It's a spoken line
2: It's from a cutscene and a privotal one at that
3: The line is spoken by an officer of the law(ranging from PI to Judge) and like poor Moorehead this person as well doesn't live very long from this point onwards. Only his killer wasn't so poetic. The last thing he heard was: BANG! BANG! (and no that's not a spoken line nor are these sounds particularly acurate but you catch my drift)

Captain Blondebeard 08-19-2010 08:21 PM

Is it Jack Orlando?

gray pierce 08-20-2010 02:25 AM

Nope,

Another quote, same game, same scene, a few minutes later

"Both dead. Damn...Guess I screwed up again."

This should simplefy the riddle somewhat

skeeter_93 08-23-2010 03:16 AM

Not a clue, sorry...

stepurhan 08-23-2010 04:32 AM

I've done a search and I've concluded that it's a quote from

THIS THREAD (it's the only thing that came up with that quote)

The moral of this story is cheating, as well as being morally wrong, really isn't worthwhile. :)

tsa 08-23-2010 10:13 AM

Heheh, I did a search once for Victorian Post order magazines (which should have been catalogues but I'm no native speaker) and the first thing I found was my question about them in The AG Community Blog :D.

gray pierce 08-23-2010 11:59 AM

Excuse me but are you talking about my quotes?

'Cause if you are I can assure you they're from an actual game.

Okay, a bit more information:
The killing of the person whom I orginally quoted wasn't really a cold blooded murder but rather a sort of justice

He was saying that in an attempt to cheat he couldn't find the answer. He wasn't questioning the fact that it's a real game.

I am stumped. I've gone over every game I know that includes the type of character and attempted to place the scene but am coming up empty. It must be a semi obscure game.

LOL! I must've been half asleep or something. Going back over that post I can't see what's not to get!
Really funny:D

And I can tell you one thing if anything it's not it's a semi obscure game. Unless you label the entire adventure genre as semi obscure

Captain Blondebeard 08-23-2010 06:47 PM

Wow. I've played almost every non obscure adventures. Is it a tex Murphy game?

Wouldn't doubt you. Just means no-one (apart from you) has quoted it online.

I wouldn't have posted if I'd found it that way anyway. It sounds like something I've got but not got round to playing yet and I wanted to satisfy my curiosity on that point. Guess I'll have to wait to find out.

Origami 08-24-2010 02:50 PM

@Guy Pearce

Hopkins FBI lol...

rayvio 08-24-2010 02:54 PM

I have a nagging feeling that I should know this... it's not Blade Runner is it?

Origami 08-24-2010 03:56 PM

^
I contemplated saying Blade Runner too.

But I don't remember two deaths following up so closely in that game.

But I think you're right.

gray pierce 08-25-2010 12:53 AM

@Rayyo: no it's not Blade Runner

@Origami: you're very, very close but not there yet.

Also why did you aim at Guy Pearce, what does he have to do with all this?:D

tsa 08-25-2010 01:40 AM

It's not the Grey Fedora or the Goats thingy is it? I forgot the real names of those funny AGs.
