RuneScape Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM is live with new Relics and Blessings

If you’re a serious RuneScape enjoyer looking for an excuse to start from scratch, you’ve just been given a pretty good one, as Jagex has officially launched Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM.

Available from August 10 until September 21, the limited-time mode marks the second season of RuneScape Leagues, and forms another part of the MMO’s ongoing 25th Anniversary celebrations.

As with the previous CATALYST season, everyone starts fresh and works through an accelerated version of the game, complete with faster XP rates, powerful Relics, League Tasks and exclusive rewards. This time, though, Jagex is placing even more emphasis on the choices you make along the way, spicing things up a bit.

Rather than giving you the entirety of Gielinor from the off, EQUILIBRIUM starts you with access to Misthalin, and the recently introduced Havenhythe. Completing tasks allows further regions to be unlocked, opening up different bosses, quests, training opportunities, and equipment depending on the route you take.

You won’t be able to see absolutely everything in one run, so picking a region because it contains a particular boss or valuable skilling method could have a pretty big knock-on effect later.

Combat is getting a shake-up, too, thanks to Blessings, a new progression system split across Order, Balance and Chaos. Completing specific combat tasks advances you through eight Blessing tiers, eventually leading to powerful God Tier Blessings based on your chosen alignment.

Relics return alongside these, including Endless Harvest, which automatically banks gathered resources, Survivalist, focused on gathering efficiency, and Golden Touch, which turns Agility and Thieving into money-making opportunities.

Jagex has also streamlined progression following feedback from the first League, with certain questlines automatically completed, and tasks reworked to help players reach the good stuff faster. XP begins at a hefty 5x multiplier, increasing further as more Relics are unlocked.

Perhaps most importantly for anyone who missed out last time, EQUILIBRIUM also features dedicated Free-to-Play League Worlds, meaning you don’t necessarily need a RuneScape membership to see what all the fuss is about.
