Marvel’s Wolverine has multiple editions, and here’s what comes in each
Marvel’s Wolverine is bringing one of the most beloved X-Men to PS5 with a whole lot of violence to go with it, and naturally, there are a couple of editions to choose from before launch.
Thankfully, Sony and Insomniac haven’t gone too overboard here. There’s no crazy number of retailer-exclusive bundles to try and decipher, but there are still a few differences between the options.
All Marvel’s Wolverine editions, explained
There are technically just two editions of Marvel’s Wolverine on offer: Standard or Digital Deluxe, with the latter obviously providing more but coming in at a higher cost.
The Standard Edition of Marvel’s Wolverine is the most straightforward option, giving you the base game on PS5. This is the one to go for if you simply want to experience Logan’s story without worrying too much about extra cosmetics that you might not want to mess around with anyway.
Since Marvel’s Wolverine is not open-world and is instead a more linear, story-driven experience, the Standard Edition should be more than enough for those of you out there who just want to slice through the main campaign.
On the other hand, the Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game and a whole lot of fancy gear to equip. There are five exclusive suits, five exclusive claws, and three additional Technique Points. The exclusive suits are Incredible, Savage, Age of Apocalypse, Night Hunt, and New Leather, while the claws include Smooth-Edged Claws, Hollow Blade Claws, Thick Claws, Serrated Spine Claws, and Tapered Claws.
It’s worth noting that the suits and claws are cosmetic, so you’re not buying any sort of huge gameplay advantage here. However, the additional Technique Points should give you a slightly faster start when upgrading Wolverine’s abilities.
What’s good to know is that there is also the Marvel’s Wolverine Digital Deluxe Edition Upgrade, which is available separately. So, you can buy the Standard Edition first, or potentially pick up a physical copy, and later decide to upgrade if you want the Deluxe content after all.
Also, if you’re pre-ordering any edition, don’t forget that you’ll receive other additional goodies.
