Its sooo true, the DS has so many great games, I've only got 3 of the great ones, I still want to get 10 other games out on the DS. I don't plan to get bored quickly. :P

On the strength of Consolevania's review a while back. I'm being extremely irritated by the seemingly endless, unskippable cutscenes that populate the beginning of the game.

I recently traded in my Oblivion Collectors Edition on the Xbox 360 for a copy of Psychonauts.

For Dasilva and anyone interested in getting Final Fantasy III DS:

Release date announced

Hopefully this is the true and final release date, as so many sites seem to have difficulty agreeing on the subject.

Gonchi 08-22-2006 02:48 PM

I just received Hollywood Monsters in the mail. Traded for it over GTZ.

Dasilva 08-23-2006 12:15 PM

I just got TES: OBLIVION! for my 360. :D

I should warn you -- X3: Reunion at retail stores comes on 6 CD's (US Version) and comes StarForce equipped. The DVD Edition overseas in Europe also is SF-equipped, I should note....

Though, I should note that they are planning to release a patch to remove SF sometime later this year....
...Which is probably due to all the SF-complaints going around and since they probably are planning on supporting X2: The Threat and X3: Reunion more so on STEAM, since both of those games are also available for purchase over STEAM now.

Six CDs? Mad.

I'm amazed that they're still releasing games on so many discs in America.

Yeah, SIX CD's. Crazy-ness. I know.

Hey, Dreamfall's on SIX CD's over in the USA, also.

Some games in the USA, they have a Regular Edition which comes on a bunch of CD's and a Special Collector's Edition that comes on ONE DVD -- such as Quake 4 and F.E.A.R.

Many of the newer games are opting to come on DVD only in the USA, these days -- such as GTA: San Andreas, Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, The Matrix: Path of Neo, Hitman: Blood Money, to name a few.

I wish more games would go that route and just come on one DVD as opposed to 3-6 CD's (or more).

I just baught The Sims 1 & all the expansions for it. On special for 5 quid each.

wildcat 08-28-2006 02:20 PM

That wouldn't be the Woolies promotion that's going on at the moment?

RLacey 08-28-2006 02:25 PM

Has anybody actually seen anything particularly decent in the Woolies promotion? I got Rainbow Six Lockdown for £2 (which is a very good price given that it's still about £20 in most places), and I already owned Serious Sam II. I'm wondering if different shops have different stock, though, because their website never mentioned Lockdown as being on sale...

Wow...that's Sims 1 + the 7 expansions you got!
How much is 5 quid equal to in US dollars, out of curiosity?

You can buy The Sims 1: Complete Collection (Sims 1 + all 7 expansions) for $40 retail price in the USA....

LeisureSuitedLooney 08-28-2006 07:07 PM

My most recent game purchases were all for the GameCube...sorry, my PC's laggy tonight, so no screenshots, but I'll list them.

-Pac-Man World 2
-Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
-Backyard Football
-Sonic: Mega Collection

I bought my GameCube because I perceived the Nintendo stuff as more kid-friendly(my niece and 2 nephews are all under 10). So far, the only one they haven't tried out yet is the football one, but the other 3 they all seem to love. The Sonic one made my older nephew squeal, "Uncle Mark!! How did you KNOW this was my favorite?!?" ;)

lol, kids. They just started the Power Rangers game today, and it seems fairly easy to breeze through, at least in the early levels. Oh, and the Pac-Man one is addictive, lol. We ALL take turns with that one...when I'm not playing Wind Waker and making them wait for a turn, lol....

Oh yeah, I bought that a few months ago for about 25-26 euros from GameStation, I really thought that it would be a great game like the old 2d Sonics, but man I hate the stupid level design and those irritating voices.

In most levels the speedy flow of the game stops too many times and then there are those incredibly stupid sudden death scenes and you can't stop dying.

To me, the game looks good, but isn't that good. And the soundtrack just doesn't compete at all against Sonic 1-3. ;)
