I just ordered a pair of Wolky 3-way adjustable strap sandals in red to celebrate my last session of physical therapy for my ankle. They're a bit pricey, but I've been living in slippers and a ratty pair of athletic shoes for several months because nothing else fits both feet. These should be functional and look decent, although I'll probably still wear pants to hide my lovely ankle "zippers."
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...el/sandals.jpg I also just received a bunch of books from Barnes & Noble - a couple of Jonathan Kellerman mysteries, the newest Dresden Files book, and several mysteries by Alexander McCall Smith. |
They look great Lade Kestrel! :)
I bought a new skirt yesterday. There's a totally different dress code at my new job and I realize I'll have to upgrade my wardrobe. Nothing could please me more.;) |
Booked a holiday for my %$th birthday.
One week in.... http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/6406/newyorkcity.jpg |
Jelena,
That's a great excuse to justify buying new clothes. Good going, Lucien! Will it be your first time in New York? There is so much to do there. What do you want to see? If you need some suggestions, let me know. I take a bus up and see a show there at least once a month, and I have friends who live in Manhattan. |
Yes first time in NY.
Suggestions would be cool. I'm planning on doing the usual stuff.. * Walk the Brooklyn Bridge * View the Statue of Liberty from the Staten Island Ferry * Go to Central Park * Go up the Rockafella Centre * Visit the Natural History Museum and the Met Art Museum * Have lunch in China Town * See Grand Central Station * Shopping |
That should keep you busy for the week, but if you have time, the Museum of Modern Art has some great paintings, too. Window shopping down 5th Avenue is fun, and don't forget Greenwich Village. Will you be seeing a show?

I finally got myself a unicycle. My family learnt to ride unicycles years ago on a trip to Fuerte Ventura. However, I couldn't participate since I was too small, and they didn't have any unicycles for kids. :(
Now I finally want to learn myself, and though we have some old unicycles still lying around, I wanted my own. I got a good deal on a unicycle by Qu-Ax. Now I only have to learn to ride it. Keep your thumbs crossed that I succeed! ^^ - :) :) :) :) :) :) :) |

Ordered my Copy of "The Whispered World" yesterday, and it just arrived. ^^

Why is it that all the writers of my favorite mysteries have to publish new books at the same time? I just ordered This Body of Death (Inspector Lynley series) by Elizabeth George, U Is for Undertow (Kinsey Milhone series) by Sue Grafton, A River in the Sky (Amelia Peabody series) by Elizabeth Peters, and Hardball (V. I Warsawski series) by Sara Paretsky.

Just came back from the WGT, with three corsets (two half busts, and one full bust with matching skirt), several skirts, a jacket, some socks, and a set of Dice.
- :D :D :D :D :D :D :D |
Pictures! We want pictures! I didn't know you can still buy corsets.

I'll take pictures of them soon. The two half bust corsets I could wear to work somewhere as well, but the full bust one is a bit more for going out in the evening. It's a steampunk outfit! ^^ - :) :) :) :) :) :) :) |
Oh no! Why does everything has to be steampunk these days!

My Ipad got delivered today.
It's ace. http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/9703/img0002qd.jpg Still playing about with the various apps I downloaded, but the Kindle one is great. The iBook app has next to nothing in the UK shop so I need to import some of my epub books on to it later. Uploaded a bunch of comics to it and it seems like a perfect device for comics. The screen is the perfect size and the clarity and colour is amazing. http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/8739/img0004o.jpg Also tried some games on it like Flight Control and pinball which are a lot of fun. Most importantly though I played some adventure games. Secret of Monkey Island, Myst and Beneath a Steel Sky are just Iphone versions that x2 (makes them pixely but not too bad). Frontz is text adventure greatness and with the iPad keyboard ...a lot of fun. Broken Sword has a native ipad app now and it rocks. http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/5959/img0005xl.jpg Adventure games + iPad = :9~ |
Well I got myself a Palm Pre Plus last week. It's not as big and bulky as the Android and iphone platforms and for $50.00 US it was a great deal.
After I bought the device I read about the deals that were made for buying Palm out due to it's lack of foresight by just making internal changes instead of creating newer phone designs like the other manufacturers were doing. Was fascinated in how Google, Apple, and Blackberry were fighting for this company and then was outsmarted by HP. Palm owns several hundred pattens that are insanely worth a ton of money and were not marketed properly. Well, That being said I have already put it through the wringer. Thanks to a Palmcentral.net for giving me the tools to write command lines, hack the GUI, and add scripts to this cute device whose only problem is a lack of battery life. Will get a newer battery that will increase the life by 40% as soon as possible. SCUMMVM works well on it and so do a few other oldies but goodies that I enjoy. Only trouble is I cannot screen capture while a game is running. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...verizon-01.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...emp-0jpg-4.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...emp-0jpg-3.jpg http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...emp-0jpg-2.jpg |
