We're still waiting for someone to guess this.

TimovieMan 01-22-2012 06:03 AM

Freddie Pharkas ?

zobraks 01-22-2012 06:36 AM

And waiting...

Jon_wachter 02-25-2012 05:29 AM

Perhaps this would be a good time to post another clue?

zobraks 02-25-2012 05:58 AM

Maybe.

I'm running out of quotes, but here's another one (from the same game no-one has played - except Trunkyo):

Here I am. Don't get your curls in an uproar, Mr. Clumsy. ;)

All four quotes are from 80 Days. This game has a lot of hilarious quips, unfortunately they're not very memorable (it took two weeks for Shany to finally guess correctly when I posted two lines back in June!)

Say, have you played the game, zobraks? My next question is, 'Where's kate me?' I know she's played, but sadly, she hasn't been around the forums lately. :frown:

Why should I? It took you only 48 days to show up!

Exactly! Attachment 3261
You're the man! :)

No, somehow I dislike the game (maybe the fact that the main character drives some ultrasonic futuristic vehicle in the middle of XIX century India :( - with Holy Cows and things around - has something to do with my reluctance to play 80 Days).

That shouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Maybe she's cooking another quiz? :9

Trunkyo 02-26-2012 09:19 AM

Yeah, I forgot about this thread after it dropped to page 2. :o

80 Days has its odd charms... I'm a fan of the steampunk genre, so the technological anachronisms weren't a problem for me. (But how in the world was Oliver able to take the train to Japan???) What annoyed me were all the backtracking and the bad Asian accents! :shifty:

OK, new quote:
"I want you to know, I'm very proud of my Pig-American heritage."
"And pigs everywhere are proud of YOU, [character name omitted]."

Is it (the name) Cornfed (which would mean the quote is from Duckman)?

I played the game many years ago :frown:, so I'm not sure at all.

Trunkyo 02-29-2012 05:03 PM

The character in question is not literally a pig (but he is American), so no, these lines are not from Duckman. ;) I'll provide another quote soon.

Trunkyo 03-02-2012 07:58 PM

OK, here's another quote, a much easier one from the same game.
"Yeah right. Like I'm going to stick my hand in some crack in the rock on an alien planet."

Jon_wachter 03-03-2012 04:06 AM

The Dig! I knew I had played that game. I recognized the first quote too but couldnt quite place it.

Jon_wachter 03-03-2012 04:09 AM

The first quote is right in the begining of the game right, when you're still on the asteroid and can talk to those other guys back on earth?

Trunkyo 03-03-2012 07:55 AM

I knew that second quote would make it easier to guess. ;)

Yep, and that's the correct scene in the game too! The omitted character is of course Commander Boston Low and the other speaker in that exchange is Maggie Robbins. ("And pigs everywhere are proud of YOU, Commander Low.") The next (cruelly ironic) quote is also by Low.

Your turn again, Jon! :D

Jon_wachter 03-03-2012 08:18 AM

Yeah but in your defence, "The Dig" is not exactly crawling with memorable quotes. The pig is the robot they use to blow a hole in the asteroid right? They should make that game for the iPhone so I can play it again.

Okay new quote!

"Your mother sleeps with infected men".

zobraks 03-03-2012 10:25 AM

That's the legendary quote from Duckman.
(Duckman: The Graphic Adventures of a Private Dick it is.)

Jon_wachter 03-03-2012 10:58 AM

Yeah such a great game to quote from, bonus point if you remember the actual "chinese" quote. I remember it ended with gock heck! or something like it.

pointandcliklover 03-03-2012 11:59 AM

i've never played the game but its been on here a lot recently, i think its gonna have to go on my to play next list

zobraks 03-04-2012 01:32 AM

Here goes nothing:

Quote:

Never tell the truth when a lie will do.
P.S. It's not a Star Trek game (as suggested by Google).
