Stone Mirth on Earth preparing to roll out later this year
It's pretty rare for a game to feature a stone as a main character. But the little round protagonist of German solo developer Amir Matouk's upcoming Stone Mirth on Earth is no mere inanimate hunk of rock, but a volcanic visitor from Mars who has come to save the day.
The bright cartoony hand-drawn backdrops are similar to the developer's previous game, The Secrets of Jesus, as is the simple point-and-click interface. Once again accompanied by an original soundtrack composed by Peter Engel, gameplay will comprise logical yet amusing puzzles, set in a “magical world full of fantasy with a touch of science fiction.” You'll meet a variety of other organic and mineral-based characters alike along the way, offering some insight into the way "stones from different planets get along." In order to ultimately succeed, however, you'll need to make strategic use of Stone Mirth's special abilities if he's to fend off the "increasing darkness" that only he has the power to dispel.
There is no specific target release date just yet, but you can put Stone Mirth on Earth on your Steam wishlist and take a look at official website for more details while you wait for its Windows PC launch sometime later this year.
