First details crop up for Mistmoon Falls
Life in a farming town isn’t generally considered very exciting, particularly one like Mistmoon Falls, the eponymous setting of an upcoming retro-RPG-styled adventure from Portmantoga. If the thought of spending time in such a place doesn’t sound very enticing to you, don’t worry because the reason you’re here is the “freshly murdered farmer” whose killer must be found.
The game’s presentation is reminiscent of the pixel art RPGs popular on 16-bit consoles in the 1990s. The cute sprites and rural scenery are detailed and colorful, viewed from a 3/4 top-down perspective in both internal and external settings. The detective tools at your disposal include the likes of “CSI spray, audio bugs, and a metal-detector.” During the investigation, you’ll begin to uncover secrets about the town itself, and “denizens more sinister than the Tourist Board has been letting on.”
Although a release date for Windows and Mac has yet to be set, you can already add Mistmoon Falls to your wishlist on Steam, and keep up with the game's progress and developments on the official website.
