Correction: our original article mentioned that the game was to be released on the 20th of May, this was incorrect. The game will be released on the 15th of July, 2022.

Navigating the social minefield of grade-school is a period most of us would like to forget. In Creepybox Games' upcoming Blackberry the Witch, players will have the chance to guide a young witch in training through her blunder years, and maybe learn a spell or two along the way.

Blackberry and her friend Raspberry are witches-in-training at Thornes Boarding School, an academy for child sorcerers. When Raspberry’s association with a “dark cult” gets her into trouble, Blackberry “is ready to do anything to save her best friend.”

Blackberry the Witch is a “classic adventure,” putting players in control of the titular teenage witch and allowing them to “become her conscience” as they travel the halls of Thornes Boarding School. Developer Creepybox Games touts Blackberry the Witch as “a game about friendship, betrayal and explosive magic” with “challenging puzzles” situated along the way. With hand drawn 2D graphics, Blackberry the Witch combines charming storybook visuals with a classic 2D point-and-click adventure interface.

Blackberry the Witch is set to release on July 15, 2022 on PC via Steam.
