Murder Mystery Machine powered up on Apple Arcade

Written by Jack Allin -

Apple Arcade is here, and it's bringing some adventure games with it. One of the first such titles is Murder Mystery Machine, an episodic title from BAFTA award-winning multimedia studio Blazing Griffin.

The game thrusts players into the "heart of a city-spanning mystery, untangling a web of crimes that spans the city’s dark underbelly all the way to the corridors of political power." Detective Cassandra ‘CC’ Clarke and partner Nathaniel ‘Nate’ Houston "travel to late night jazz bars, retro arcades and seedy motels to investigate what looks like a simple murder but soon turns into a complex, interconnected series of crimes that’s anything but an open-and-shut case." As a detective, you will "investigate intricately crafted crime scenes to find evidence, interrogate suspects and create links between it all to deduce the story behind the crime."

Presented through a blend of isometric exploration and traditional interactive screens, Murder Mystery Machine promises a "new kind of detective game" that "crosses unique puzzle-solving and deduction gameplay with a narrative that questions the very nature of justice." The story has been "written by TV writers to present a TV series style approach." To that end, each subsequent case will be consist of its own self-contained episode but with "interconnected plotlines" between them.

Created by the company responsible for Murderous Pursuits and the film Anna and the Apocalypse, Murder Mystery Machine is available now exclusively through Apple's new subscription service
