Tick’s Tales: Up All Knight itching to be released next week

Written by Jack Allin -

They just don't make knights like they used to. Long gone are the days of Sir Lancelot and Galahad, and in their place is a whole new kind of hero, like the star of his own upcoming adventure game... a little fellow named Tick.

The titular star of Tick's Tales: Up All Knight is no armour-clad legend, that's for sure. He's small, easily frightened, and known as the neighbourhood troublemaker. But when the would-be love of his life, Georgia McGorgeous, is captured by the evil goblin Bloodclot, it's up to this most unlikely of heroes to become a knight, save the town of Remington, and rescue his beloved while winning her heart. No problem, right?

A one-man production from indie developer Bryce Covert, Tick's Tales is described as a "modern-yet-retro-styled adventure, full of tough puzzles, engaging narrative, and, most importantly, good humor." The first screenshots and trailer show off the retro part, displaying the kind of 8-bit graphics that so influenced Covert in the games he grew up enjoying, while the gameplay and writing promise to deliver a "send-up and homage to the classic point-and-click quest adventures."

If you're up for a little knightly adventure, you won't have long to wait, as Phoenix Online Studios will be publishing Tick's Tales: Up All Knight for Windows, Mac, and Linux on June 9th for $7.99 at major online retailers.
