House of Fire breaks silence on new tablet adventure

Written by Rob Franklin -

Proving that silence isn’t always golden, indie Danish developer House of Fire have loudly proclaimed production on a new title, The Silent Age, a time-bending adventure for Android and iOS tablets.

This sci-fi point-and-click adventure takes you back and forth between present day 1972 and an unsettling future in 2011. You dive into the role of an average and suitably-named Joe. Joe is an office cleaner who one night stumbles across a mysterious dying man. The stranger, before slipping the mortal coil, explains to Joe that something is about to go wrong with catastrophic repercussions on the future and hands him a portable time travel device. It would seem the fate of humanity lies in Joe’s hands!

As the first screenshots and teaser trailer indicate, this adventure-to-go displays a minimalist art direction with a suitably dystopian feel. The game is being optimised for Android and iOS tablets, but the developers state that “it should also be very well playable on most modern smart phones which are relying on these operating systems.”

The Silent Age will be arriving in the first quarter of 2012 carrying a not-so-unpleasant $0.99 price tag.
