Broken Sword unsheathed for free at GOG.com

Written by Jack Allin -

If you've somehow managed to miss out on Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars all these years, or resisted picking up the recently enhanced Director's Cut, now you're out of excuses, as GOG.com is making both versions free to all for 48 hours.

Originally released to widespread acclaim in 1996, the first adventure of American George Stobbard and French photojournalist Nicole Collard was updated and re-released across multiple platforms last year. Notable features include an all-new chapter played as Nicole, a context-sensitive help system, and new cinematics and animations by renowned artist (and Watchmen creator) Dave Gibbons.

The free download comes courtesy of the game's developer, Revolution Software, and is available to all registed users at GOG.com (registration is free and comes with no additional obligations). You'll have to act fast though, as the offer ends October 1 at 7:59 a.m. EDT (11:59 a.m. GMT).
