Belief & Betrayal restores faith with playable demo

Written by Jack Allin -

"Belief & Betrayal" could very well describe the game's on again-off again release schedule thus far. At long last, however, it appears that the conspiracy thriller from Artematica is on its way, as evidenced by today's release of a playable demo.

The demo begins at the start of the full game, briefly setting up its historical backdrop before introducing one the game's three playable characters, New York journalist Jonathan Danter. Assigned to a decade-old murder case, Jonathan's adventure quickly escalates when the case reveals links to a dangerous church conspiracy dating back to the 12th century. In the full game, Danter will be joined in his investigation by ancient language scholar Katrin McKendal and a computer expert named Damien as players travel to such places as London, Venice, Rome and the Vatican in order to expose a mystery that could threaten all of mankind.

A list of download links for the 570 MB demo can be found at the publisher's website.

Belief & Betrayal is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers in North America on June 10th, followed shortly after in the UK. In the meantime, be sure to check out the game's official website for more information.
