SG: Setting the game in early twentieth-century New York and focusing on a serial killer will certainly make for a dark game, both visually and thematically. How important is setting the right mood for an adventure game?

 

PG: It is as important as in a movie. I think adventure games will have more and more in common with motion pictures, as they are very story and character focused. Players want to be emotionally involved in a game. The day someone tells me “you know, this game was so touching I cried,” I would say we’ve reached a new stage in adventure gaming.
