Antaios 07-07-2010 04:48 AM

It's probably not it, but The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy springs to mind so I thought I'd just say that. :)

Nope, great read though, not so good a film(but still enjoyable)

Shany 07-07-2010 06:19 AM

OK, I'm going to guess Fate of Atlantis.

Nope not Fate of Atlantis either. Antoher hint: The Works of Fiction can be a series of works as well as two completely different works

Jodokall 07-07-2010 07:46 AM

Return to Mysterious Island?

Just throwing out a guess here (I've never even played it), but it seems like the hints point to Jules Verne.

cro_dark91 07-07-2010 08:35 AM

AG: And then There Were None?

gray pierce 07-07-2010 08:58 AM

Not Jules Verne and not Agatha Christie but the latter's pretty close

When I say it can be a series of works as well as two completely different works I mean just that

Now it shouldn't be a long stretch anymore

pointandcliklover 07-07-2010 09:46 AM

ok i will say it sherlock holmes

or

nancy drew

One of those is correct but wich one and wich game?

There are 7 SH games and 21 ND games (not counting trail of the twister)wich brings it to a total of 28 titles to search through

Keep em coming guys!

Trunkyo 07-07-2010 10:07 AM

The Awakened (right near the very end of the game), I think.

That's absolutely right. It's from the opening cinematic of the Scotland section when
Spoiler:
the cult starts throwing people of the lighthouse

Watson shouts:
"My God Holmes Look! The Sea, it just Swallowed him"

The actuall hint was in the words "A series of works as well as two completely different works"

Both Conan Doyle as well as The Cthulu mythos feature in the game thus making it based on two completely different series of works

Trunkyo not only dominates the AG scene thread but this one as well!
Ever tried offering your services as a "professional AG quizzer"

Jodokall 07-07-2010 10:59 AM

I was thinking something Cthulhu related, but I knew it wasn't Call of Cthulhu since I just barely finished that game and there was no quote like that.

Didn't realize Sherlock Holmes had Cthulhu mythos in it.

Trunkyo 07-07-2010 11:06 AM

Aw shucks, gray pierce. :o:) It was the Sherlock Holmes hint that really helped. I only played the game a few months ago!

Now here's a really easy one:

"Am I alone... in this place?"

pointandcliklover 07-07-2010 11:48 AM

and i get no credit lol

i was stuck ive not played any of the nancy drew or sherlock games, well i part the way through a couple of sherlock games but i didnt get that far.

as for this one its not the dig is it.

Roman5 07-07-2010 02:38 PM

Overclocked?

(Oh I'm gonna give credit to pointandcliklover for saying sherlock holmes. :) )

Trunkyo 07-07-2010 03:28 PM

Not The Dig or Overclocked.

Oh sorry, lot of credit to you as well naturaly

As to the new one, not a clue so I'll say the way to obvious thing

Alone in the Dark?

Fantasysci5 07-07-2010 05:44 PM

Aaaah! I can finally get one! :P "The Lost Crown"...although I'm sure he's used it in his other games, too. :P

If I didn't have that phrase burned into my mind, the elipses (...) were a dead give-away. lol

Trunkyo 07-07-2010 08:09 PM

:D You are... correct. Fantsie dear.

Fantasysci5 07-07-2010 10:11 PM

Yay! lol So now I'm not sure if I want to go hard or easy.

"But who are you?" If no one gets this quote, I'll post an easier one from the game.

Trunkyo 07-08-2010 05:03 AM

The Longest Journey (asked by the Blue Draic Kin to April)?

HaroldO 07-08-2010 05:55 AM

I think got the game right but I think it's actually a few minutes after when she talks to one of the dark people on the ship. Not that it invalidates your answer (if we're not mistaken), just pointing that out.

Trunkyo 07-08-2010 06:49 AM

You're probably right about that! :) I only just remembered that April was asked this in one form or another several times in the game (I'm probably thinking of April asking "Who am I?" instead. I'm at work right now so I can't check. :o)

Fantasysci5 07-08-2010 02:16 PM

You're right Trunkyo, although Harold was right; the one I was thinking of was with the Dark People.

He kept asking her that question, because at first she just answered with a "I'm nobody" kind of answer.

Congrats Trunkyo!

Trunkyo 07-08-2010 08:05 PM

OK, next quote (another easy one)! :D

"I'm not putting my lips on that."

Antaios 07-08-2010 09:58 PM

Full Throttle. They don't get any easier than that. :P

J.H 07-09-2010 02:41 AM

One of my favourite Full Throttle quotes is if you try to use pick up from the verb coin on Maureen, Ben says "Maybe later" lol.

Trunkyo 07-09-2010 05:20 AM

I use the mouth icon on practically everything else in the game just to hear Ben say that line! :D

It's your turn to post a quote, Antaios. :) Otherwise, someone else may do so.

Antaios 07-09-2010 05:22 AM

Alright, another rather easy one then, just because I'm at work at the moment and this is the first one that came to mind:

"Hands off my pixels!"

DustyShinigami 07-09-2010 05:39 AM

Sorry, I don't mean to take over, but there's one quote I want to add:

"A brick's a brick is a brick."

Let's see if anyone can guess this one. Heh heh heh. :D

Well, with everyone playing the Monkey Island 2 remake, it wasn't too difficult.

New quote:

"Fate is not like the cut of a blade, young one, but rather like the myriad of paths formed when a hammer cracks ice."

Secret Games II? ;)

Antaios 07-10-2010 05:27 AM

It's not that, either.

Secret Files I meant, but I take it you guessed that... :frusty:

Antaios 07-10-2010 01:38 PM

Actually I didn't. Still not right though. :P

Discworld, one of several things Rincewind says when you right-click on him.

Antaios 07-11-2010 01:20 AM

You, sir (or madam, or person :P), are correct. :)
