Do the characters talk in these ds adventure games and in other ds games? I have been watching some trailers but never hear any voices.
|
No, they don't talk, besides uttering some very few words..
The only Ds game I can remember seeing having any speech at all is "Elite Beat Agents" From the trailers (I haven't played it yet.. :() he seems to shout "Agents GO!" but apart from some very few words, the ds games have no speech.. Just finished phoenix wright by the way.. Wow! Can't wait for the next one. I'll have to get hold of touch detective (yes, I have heard the fishy reviews, but I want to try it regardless) and Elite Beat Agents to shorten the wait.. |
Find a way to get Grim Fandango, Broken Sword and the Discworlds and I'll buy a DSlite for double the price.

Its not the best adventure game ever, but I dont regret buying the game tbh. The stories are a li'll bit childish to me, but overall, its still a nice game. The fact I can play it, while sitting in the li'll room :9 , will do  If I have to compare the fun with another game I played (on pc), I would say "Eye of the Kraken". It doesnt have to do anything with that game at all, but it felt the same to me, when I was playing that game. Fender |

(i think its the same video as the link few posts above) Damn how good can a game look?Im totally excited about Hotel Dusk!!!! I will surely buy it even if its a total crap. CINC is one of my fav studios out there... |
:)
I played the following junior adventures on the DS: That's so Raven Hanna Montana Lost in Blue All were fun and easy to play. Just for junior game players like Touch detective was. If you can get past the target audience being young - you can enjoy them. ;) |

ah, thx for the hints, I'll check those games once I finished Phoenix Wright (which is totally awesome, as I yelled out before  ) -fender- |

The raftbuilding and furniture-creating mini-games were impossible, as was the constant need to bring food and water to the silly girl in the cave and the struggle to spend hours each day collecting branches and fish and stones and fruit and veggies before going out to explore. Stay out too long and the girl is hungry or thirsty again or your fire dies or you are so tired you can't do anything the next day. |
refering back to the emulators, how much a powerful game can you play on the DS? I mean, is it capable of playing more recent games like Broken Sword 2, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Discworlds 2 & Noir?
I too quickly lost patience with Lost in Blue. I think I sold it 2 days later. |

I once played full throttle on my cellular (windows mobile with scummvm...) But in the scenes where you have to fight while riding your bike, do they actually work on nds? Since you need a keyboard for those, which also was a problem on scummvm for windows mobile. btw, I dont think Grim Fandango wil run, since its not supported by scummvm (or am I wrong here...) -fender- |

The DS isn't capable of playing the Broken Sword games or Full Throttle using ScummDS. Not enough memory. There is of course the option of playing the GBA release of Broken Sword however.
The following games are supported (as stated at http://scummvm.drunkencoders.com): Manic Mansion Fully working Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders Fully working Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Fully working Loom Fully working Passport to Adventure Fully working The Secret of Monkey Island Fully working Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge Fully working Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis Fully working Day of the Tentacle Fully working Sam & Max Hit the Road Fully working Major slowdown in a few scenes when MP3 audio is enabled Beneath a Steel Sky Fully working Flight of the Amazon Queen Fully working Gobliiins Fully working Simon the Sorcerer 1 Fully working Zoomed view does not follow the speaking character Simon the Sorcerer 2 Fully working Zoomed view does not follow the speaking character The Legend of Kyrandia Fully working Zoomed view does not follow the speaking character |
I wondered if anyone knows how many ag's there has been released for the GBA? I'm planning to buy the gba versions of Broken Sword (both games have been ported, right?) and I've also seen some mentioning of a Nancy drew game. Any more worth mentioning?
