Yea! AGS is one of the best!
if I can suggest other engines, it would be as follows:
1) AGS
2) Winmute
However, I 'll stay away from Adenture game maker due the following:
1) unable compiling games while free version of engine
2) Bugs amount with engire itself.
I seem to recall that AGS allows game compiling game even with free version!
If there a pro version, I'm sure they offer probably more.
