The Phantom Chariot is totally amazing, made by one of my favourite directors Victor Sjöström (called Seastrom when he went to the States).
If we're talking old movies prior to 2000 there are really millions of good ones. It's almost easier to talk about the best movies in the last 8 years then the past 110 years.
