It's definitely playable and has some memorable sequences, but the game itself just isn't that great. I say go for it and enjoy a slice of history. I played Phantasmagoria not too long after it came out, and I fondly remember sitting in front of the computer with my friend late at night with all the lights off. You'll get some quality scares!
