Turns out by the way that you can
run Crysis on DX10 settings under Windows XP. I haven't tried it myself as I haven't got the game - the setting/premise doesn't appeal to me - but it might be worth testing out.
I'll second Bioshock. I'm playing it now and it looks gorgeous. Most of the characters are a bit grotesque, but the environments are amazing.
