I definitely relate to the idea of generally enjoying a medium (whether it be movies, games or whatever) and yet not really having a favorite.

I never had a favorite director until I watched Brad Anderson's movies. And I never had a favorite game until I played The Last Express. I still don't have a favorite musical artist or author. But I tend to think that if you have a interest in a medium or genre you'll eventually find something that seems almost like it was designed with you mind--it just may take awhile to find it.
