What happened on the 29th of April?

Just curious as to why the record for 'most people online at one time' was broken on this particular day. I'm just kind of assuming that this was caused by a specific event. I mean, I remember the forum being absolutely buzzing during the Sam and Max cancellation, but nothing seems to ring a bell about April 29th. Anyone have any ideas?

guybrush_guy 10-26-2004 12:29 PM

ware did you find this date at?

EDIT*

never mind :P
the only thing i can figure out is the cancellation of sam and max

The Seed 10-26-2004 12:45 PM

Hmm, I guess it's possible, though we're talking nearly two months after the game was cancelled, surely things would have died down a tiny bit by then. That said, the backlash did seem to go strong for a long time.

E3 speculation maybe?

tabacco 10-26-2004 01:35 PM

It's also possible that it was a flood of googlebots or something.

Is that the official collective noun, man?

tabacco 10-26-2004 04:47 PM

Well, the singular is 'googlebot,' so it seems logical.

That was the day we gathered to sacrifice a virgin in order to appease the Adventure God.

Would have been a decent selection around these here parts, I'd wager.

:shifty:

I was spared from the selection process, natch. :7

Trep your avatar reminded me of our - once regular - member Moosferatu.

What happend to this guy? i haven't seen him in ages around in the forum.

guybrush_guy 10-31-2004 04:50 PM

his last activity was 2 months ago...maybe he just got tired of posting?

VoodooFX 10-31-2004 04:57 PM

it's very likely he did get bored, yes... in the old days he was one of the more active posters.

well he's not forgotten :)

ragnar 11-01-2004 12:17 AM

Well, Moos was very active a year or so ago, but that hardly qualifies as "the old days". The old days were when AG were green and I wasn't a memeber of the forum either.

I wonder how many of the really older members are still active?

Zanthia 11-01-2004 09:12 AM

Not much. Trep, and Worm and some more

He was veeeery active at one point. Probably got burned out. :shifty:

He is somewhat active at the Idle T forums though. So that's probably the easiest place to get a hold of him.

Wormsie 11-01-2004 10:51 AM

Oh, I remember the young Moos. Every time someone made a factual mistake, you knew there'd be a post by him pointing it out. :D
