Hey! That's my road you're on! I'm gonna vote you all off the road!

Maquisard 05-13-2004 08:06 PM

Where does one check someone else's, or one's own reputation? I didn't see it in the user profile.

Tanukitsune 05-13-2004 08:14 PM

So, instead of posting like crazy and trying to have the highest post cost ever, now they want us to make long and meaningful rants?
Anyway, I doubt ANYBOY will ever think I write anything worhtwhile...

Would I get a "reputation point" if I tell a good joke or post something funny? :P

I guess it's more of popularity contest.... :shifty:

The more popular you are the more people like your posts and the more reputation you have.... :frown:

It's High School all over again!

googoo gaga

Looks like you can also manipulate your own reputation (though I haven't tried it).

EDIT: No, I can just view my own points. I have ten. Why?! WHY SO MANY?!

*Sings I don't give a damn 'bout my bad reputation...*

RaMa 05-13-2004 11:32 PM

I think everyone starts with ten. I have ten too :P.

Wormsie 05-13-2004 11:40 PM

What a relief!

Wormsie 05-13-2004 11:42 PM

...but what about that unknown quantity thing?

Kolzig 05-14-2004 12:51 AM

Hey, now I'm a unknown quantity, should I celebrate, or should I kill someone

The Seed 05-14-2004 01:58 AM

You should celebrate, you're now part of an exclusive little club, though I'm sure it's not going to stay exclusive very long.

So far I've had 2 negative comments and one positive one, so I guess someone must have ticked the wrong box  .

Regardless I'm still on 8 points, and if my arithmetic skills are what they should be (and I cannot guarantee that they are) this is mathematically incorrect, as I should be on 9 points. I feel so robbed ;( .

So, what is the point of writing a comment when you approve/disapprove someone?

Since you are so violent I had to disapprove you a bit more. ;-)

Oh, if you get to the bottom of the disapproving scale, are you automatically banned from the forums? ;P

DomStLeger 05-14-2004 03:06 AM

You can see all comments on your posts on the UserCP page. But you can't see who wrote them. Methinks this is very open to abuse... won't that be fun :)

And I think, if someone with a very high reputation rates your post that has a bigger effect than someone with a negative reputation?

simpson_yellow 05-14-2004 07:00 AM

Cool. This should be fun while it lasts. And, sweet Jesus, I've scored some rep (shame it's anonymous)! Quick, someone cut me back down to size before this all goes to my head.

Now, off to the group photos thread to give rep to only the finest looking people... ;)

guybrush_guy 05-14-2004 07:19 AM

i think the rep thing is going to be a lot of fun,

it appears you can leave comments, how does someone read these comments?

check your user control panel - it should have a list of your posts which people have given you rep for, and any comments that have been made.

guybrush_guy 05-14-2004 08:08 AM

LOL, ausome....i got a good rep and a bad..one for spelling well and one for spelling bad. hopefully i wont get to meny bad reps for my horrible spelling

Mattsius 05-14-2004 08:40 AM

I've got these, so far:
"Mattsius's avatar, "The Grim Reaper" so to speak, disturbed me deeply. I am an old man with an overwhelming fear of kicking the bucket, and every time I so much as glance at one of his posts my heart misses a beat and I lose 27 seconds of my life." Negative
"chocolate is good" Positive

Okay, let's start with the first one. An old fella. Okay, spit it out! Who doesn't kick the bucket around here, because he's afraid to do so?!

As for the second one, I agree, chocolate is good! But wait, who would know that I like chocolate? http://amy.dsl.abo.fi:8080/pics/smilies/headscratch.gif And agrees with me for that matter. The plot sickens...

The Seed 05-14-2004 08:56 AM

I suspect that the comment "Chocolate is good" is merely a cover for something altogether more sinister. Exactly what that might be, I wouldn't like to deliberate, but I suspect it relates to some weird satanic ritual involving mutant chickens, or possibly some oddly coloured mushrooms.
