Personally I don't think that high-definition alone constitutes a remake. I don't mind GOGs method of re-releasing games that have become hard to find or don't run well on new machines, but to me that isn't a remake.
A remake should drastically improve at least one major aspect of a game (presentation, playability) for a modern audience. Bumping a game up to HD and calling it a day doesn't really cut it, especially for owners of the original game, unless it's a free patch or something.
