The Adventure that you like to replay most
Which Adventure you like to replay most ?
|
I replay The Longest Journey the most. I've must have played it 8 or 9 times at least. I've also played Curse of Monkey Island a lot. I could see myself replaying Grim Fandango and the first two Broken Swords a lot too.
|
I've played the MI series, the Broken Sword series, Grim Fandango, and Sanitarium until they melted. But then, I also re-read favorite books. Thanks to all for kindly welcoming me to the forums--
|
The first Shivers and Leisure Suit Larry 7 were both played to death on my PC... Shivers, because of easter eggs, and a desire for better and better scores at the end.
And Leisure Suit Larry 7 multiple times to: -finish the game (1st playthrough) -find all of the "Where's D****'s? (2nd playthrough) -find all character-related Easter Eggs (3rd playthrough) -mess around with the dialogue/verb interface to discover hidden jokes (4th playthrough) -doing all of the above eventually, in a single game, as opposed to separately (5th playthrough) |
I'm replaying all the Myst games one by one. I'd also consider replaying Broken Sword Shadow of the Templar and The Longest Journey.
|
I've replayed The Longest Journey, both Darkfalls, Myst (1, 2 & 3), and both Syberias multiple times. Even though I knew what was going to happen, it was like revisiting an old friend (and I can relate to Merricat's sentiment about books as well).
|
The Curse of Monkey Island: So good it's on the list twice™.
To be honest, I'm not someone that replays games much. That said, I remember playing Monkey Island 2 several times, and I keep it on my PocketPC for when I'm bored :P. |
I've replayed blood of the sacred blood of the damned like 3 or 4 times I liked it so much.
|
Gabe, I took out the extra Curse of Monkey Island and added an 'Other' option. I voted for TLJ. :)
|
Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!! now I can vote "other"!!
(doesn't take much to please me...) |
I've got sooo many still to play that it'll be a while before I start replaying games. But I have a feeling I'll be going back to Fahrenheit quite often, so that's my vote.
|
Gabriel Knight 3 is just ahead of TLJ in replay value for me. Although I've replayed a lot of those on the list plenty of times too...
|
Last Express, for obvious reasons.
|
Voted for Syberia.
I've never replayed this, but if I would choose game to replay, this would be it. |
In five years after release i've replayed BS,BR,GF,LE 4 times at least.
Nowadays replaying Fahrenheit with new profile, aside from various diologue options discovered some new sequences ,e.g.if Carla panics in archives Tyler can run help for her 8) |
Games i replay the most:
Broken Sword 1-3 Simon the Sorcerer 1-2 Monkey Island series Titanic: Adventure Out of Time Games that'll definately make it to the 'replay' list: Gabriel Knight series The Longest Journey Still Life Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis Sam & Max Hit the Road Grim Fandango Sam & Max - Season One Scratches Discworld Noir Hmmm, there's more that i 'will' replay than 'do'. |
The Longest Journey for the third time .
|
Day of the Tentacle for me. I've played it through about 4-5 times, and i'm not one who usually replays games.
|
These days I try really hard not to replay adventures so often. I must have completed Discworld Noir about 20 times now (not exaggerating here). I've played it to the point where I know just about all the lines. I'm as bad as a Family Guy fanatic.
I've gone through Grim Fandango and Broken Sword 1 a fair few times also. |
I voted for the GK series. I played 1 & 2 multiple times when they came out and plan on playing 1-3 again very soon.
|
Curse of Monkey Island, as it is undoubtably a game that rides on the whole experience, rather than a story that ruins the game for future replays. With a lot of games, it isn't fun when you know who the bad guy is or how the game ends, but CMI completely avoided that with pure entertainment.
That said, I haven't played any other game on that list. |
I remember a walkthrough writer who replay GK3 some 25 times!(a world record maybe)for attain perfect score.Pity there was no award at the end,
no matter how may points you collect. |
Outside of Gabriel Knight, your poll is surprisingly devoid of Sierra games.
|
Wow, I thought there'd be more for Bladerunner. I could play that game over and over... just something about it that I really freakin' enjoy.
|
I voted for Gabriel Knight (1 & 3) as the only games on the list I've completed twice.
As Collector pointed out, I find the lack of Sierra games disturbing. :shifty: The Quest for Glory's have been the games I've most replayed, 4 or 5 times each save for QfG5 which I've only finished twice. Then there's LSL 1, 3 & 6, SQ 5 and PQ 1 & 2. Outside of Sierra, Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis and Sherlock Holmes: The Case of the Serrated Scalpel are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. |
The aura of Broken Sword 1 draws me back. I also have replayed Monkey Island 1-3 at least 8 times each. Kings Quest 6 has beaten me up at least 6 times too. I have only finished it only 3 times while the other 3 were derailed by dead ends. Part of the challenge in replaying any of those old KQ games is to get through it without hitting a dead end and not using a walk through. But..... losing that game is a bitch.
|
KQ6 and QfG4 are the two that I have played the most.
|
Besides MI1&2, which are an all time favorite (I must have played them a dozen times since I'm 8, so about one time a year), I'd say Toonstruck. The french voices are a delight and the game is funnier each time I play it.
|
Definitely GK trilogy Of the games listed. In the end it is probably a split decision time wise between Quest for Glory and Gabriel Knight. I can't wait to play the VGA remake of QFG2 when it's finished.
|
Black Mirror - about 5 times
Nibiru - about 3 times |
I voted for Curse of Monkey Island, but I usually play the first three MI games one-after-another (sometimes including MI4). I usually follow that up with Sam and Max Hit the Road (surprised that wasn't on the list), then DOTT. There's just something about the first act of Secret of Monkey Island that kept me coming back to the old LucasArts games when I had drifted away from the adventure genre.
|
I voted for Broken Sword, but I have played GK series several times too.
I have to say though, that the Leisure Suit Larry series is the game I have played over and over and over, more times than I care to remember, lol. Indiana Jones was my favorite game back then though. If I remember it right, I went through it maybe 8 times. |
I voted for Curse of Monkey Island. The whole game is brilliant, but the act where you visit Blood Island is for me the most perfect marriage of music, art and atmosphere that I've ever seen in a game. I don't think I'll ever grow tired of Goodsoup's tales, and I often just hang about outside the hotel taking in the beautiful twilight mood. I think I've played the game through about 10 times now.
Also, hi there everyone, I just joined. |
Welcome to AG Gorecki and misslilo! :) Glad you could both join us. :)

You guys made me replay Syberia...
|
I haven't played either of these a lot, but they're always worth a replay:
Samorost (free game! - and yes, I know it's not the 18th. :P) Samorost 2 (worth every penny) http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...nie68/Sam2.jpg |
Hey, I've played the Samorost games too :D
Loved them! |
I tried with Fate of Atlantis, but it's pointless...
Replaying a game is pure escapism. :p |
Two games that I have played numerous times are The Beast Within and The Last Express. Both in my all time top 5 favorites.
