Test your system to see if it can run Dreamfall!
I'm sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, I couldn't see it, but there is a website online that checks to see whether or not your CPU will be able to run the game you select.
Dreamfall has just been added to the list, so for those wondering how their system will fare when the game is released, here's your chance to find out. This list contains all modern games including the PC versions of Condemned, Oblivion and Tomb Raider Legend. Worth bookmarking. ;) http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest |
I love that site, very handy. :)

I didn't pass... stupid thingy..:frown:
|
I passed everything, well beyond the recommended specs.
|
I passed everything, that felt good!
|
Can someone explain this to me? If all the specs of my video card are adequate, why did my card fail?

It gives examples of a ATI Radeon 9550+ and Nvidia Geforce 5700+, the plus sign signifying the need for equivalent or greater. The GPU of the Xpress 200 is not nearly as fast as those.
They're using the Aspyr requirements. Funcom released requirements that are more realistic and actually make sense. |
I didn't pass on the cpu.. I have AMD Athlon 2400+ (2 Ghrz)and the test requires 2,8 Ghrz
|
I failed on both CPU and Graphics Card....oh well.
|
How have you managed to have 894.5MB of RAM? :P
|
So does the game need 128 or 64 mb of video ram? I've heard different statements from the Dreamfall website in the last week. I've got 64, and it's the only thing it's failing me on.

My computer rocks everyhting :D

There's one thing I like about my computer, it always fails in these tests, but always delivers and in some cases I can run the game with all graphics on maximum. Only thing I need to turn off is shadows, other than that, it can handle everything.
|
Perfectly smooth?
|
DO NOT believe the Aspyr minimum requirements. Use Funcom's instead:
https://funcom.asknet.com/cgi-bin/show/P14706 Remember: They actually made the game. |
Yeah, and in addition, automated req programs seldom have any kind of intelligence in what kind of hardware can make up for the rest. If you by any chance (probably not very likely, but still) are sitting on a X1900XTX and have a CPU that is a few MHz short, you'll most likely still be smokin'.
A user with a bit of knowledge in tweaking can also probably put some of these "min specs" to shame. But of course, I realise these types of programs are not intended for those people. |
That site is clueless, do not use it for anything. According to it I can run Oblivion on max....haha...sure. It only looks at your hardware tags and not really the real speed of your PC. It also only compares them to the box-requirements instead of what the game REALLY needs.
So in other words its entirely possible for it to claim a game will work and then it doesn't. Hell, I tried an old celeron on that site and it claimed it could run the newest games on a Geforce MX 4000.... |

I still can´t believe that my geforce 3 won´t be able to run this game. Those people that ran the game on 64mb card what where the name of those cards?
