Cute! :) (of course I can't read a thing on the page)

Damn, I want a DS... :(

AFGNCAAP 02-08-2006 12:13 PM

Coolness! :9~ By the time some Japanese speaker graces this thread with a visit, Babelfish "translates":
Quote:

The world where it has the atmosphere of modern English pitch with detective ones as for stage corporation success, this spring, sells "Rina adventure touch detective Ozawa" for ニンテンドー DS.
(something tells me "ニンテンドー" is "Nintendo" :D )
Quote:

"Rina touch detective Ozawa", true to its name the "touch" doing the touch screen of DS with the touch pen, says that it keeps explaining the case mystery numerous, it has become the adventure game. The player, becoming Rina girl detective Ozawa of the new rice, aims toward the incident solution, keeps doing the investigation and interview.
The beginning asks for a dirty joke ;) , but I suppose what we have here is an investigative adventure game Ã* la Phoenix Wright.

fov 02-08-2006 12:13 PM

Do we have reason to believe the game will be translated?

There are a lot of Japanese adventure games that never make it over here (unfortunately).

Jackal 02-08-2006 12:19 PM

I see the killer from Scream got a desk job.

This game DOES look incredibly cool. Maybe Capcom will pick it up and publish three whole copies of it again.

Thought I think that guy is based off the painting 'The Screamer' ...wich i think the scream mas was based off of....so i guess.....umm...Cant remember where i was going with this

Though come to think of it the whole game looks to be based off that style, I really hope it gets translate :D

backdrifter 02-08-2006 12:48 PM

That looks absoluely GORGEOUS!

It's named simply The Scream (alternately, The Cry). Check here: http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth...nch.scream.jpg

Now that you brought that up, the similarity cannot possibly be a coincidence. Good catch. :)

Dasilva 02-08-2006 12:55 PM

Funkyness!

Kolzig 02-08-2006 01:27 PM

Looks really sweet, I hope it will get an US/PAL release.

I was under the impression that Phoenix Wright sold pretty well?

Kolzig 02-09-2006 04:07 AM

It migh have sold well, but there are no more copies sold anywhere, and the European release has been pushed from March to July, so I don't know what is going on...

Jackal 02-09-2006 05:15 AM

Yep, what Kolzig said. It would probably STILL be selling well, except that no one can find it anymore. :frusty:

Marek 02-09-2006 05:28 AM

I hadn't heard that. Nintendo Europe's media intranet site still lists Phoenix Wright as 31.03.2006.

Kolzig 02-09-2006 05:56 AM

Hmm, well I hope that turns out to be true because I'd like to play the game as soon as possible.

fov 02-09-2006 07:04 AM

Marek, see this thread for more of the story.

I have looked in a bunch of shops and it's not in any of them around here. Truly weird.

squarejawhero 02-09-2006 07:10 AM

You wouldn't believe how many adventuresque games are out in Japan you've never heard of. OK, one of them is soft porn. Er... but the DS here is so much more than a "games console".

Most of the killer apps here are educational - teaching English/Kanjii etc. Shame that idea hasn't picked up in the UK, I'm sure DS's would fly off the shelves.

I feel like I recently read about an upcoming UK release of something like this. Can't remember where I saw it, though. I'll try to find a link.

Matt M 02-09-2006 07:40 AM

Looks really good, hope it makes it over here.

bigjko 02-09-2006 08:45 AM

With so many weird japanese titles getting released over here, there's a pretty neat chance this might show up on US/UK shores.

Starflux 02-09-2006 09:47 AM

Oh my god, that style is absolutely adorable! I'd buy this on a WHIM! I love Japanese wackiness permeating their design.

A "soft porn" (you probably mean Hentai) game for the DS?
Are you sure you're not mistaken, I follow most Japanese releases and I don't believe I've seen one that even remotely fits that description...

Anyway, I too hope Osawari Tantei Ozawa Rina gets an English language release, it looks quite interesting. I love the graphics style of the game.

Junkface 02-09-2006 06:43 PM

Love the visuals (seem to be saying that ever more frequently lately...) Reminds me again how much I need a DS.

All gaming platforms in Japan have some hentai games. They are propably not that much advertised so that may be why you haven't heard about it. :D

nikoniko 02-12-2006 11:02 PM

An AG.com exclusive: screenshots from the English version of this game!

Okay, well, not exactly from the English version... but definitely an AG.com exclusive, as I translated these myself and will only be posting them here.

And introducing some of the characters:

http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/2...racters6ey.jpg

You might notice the name Jii for the butler. This is pronounced like the "jee" in "Jeeves", the famous English butler from novels by Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse. The name has lent itself to countless manservants since then, and even the AskJeeves website.

Starflux 02-13-2006 12:36 AM

Oh, how the ordinary man looks completely bored out of his skull. Lovely.

I'm pretty sure it's not quite hentai, but it's about oggling near-naked anime chicks.

Thanks for putting your time into this. :)

fov 02-13-2006 07:22 AM

Thanks, doroposo! It's cool to be able to understand what they're saying. :)

Kolzig 02-13-2006 07:40 AM

We salute you doroposo. Nice job. :)

I really want this game to be released in Europe/US.

Everyone's welcome, it was my pleasure. After spending a little time with the screens, I think I'll have to pick up this game myself. Seems like a cute little adventure. Who knows, maybe if it doesn't see an international release, I might put together a companion guide to the game text for adventurous importers.

Veovis 02-15-2006 04:18 AM

Looks nice, but as someone said, there's several adventure titles out or on the way for the DS which may or may not be translated.

Tantei Kibukawa Ryosuke Jiken Dan: The Masquerade Lullaby for example. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-...en-70-h1u.html

Also, for those of you who cannot find Phoenix Wright in the US, try Play-Asia.com. They have the japanese version (Gyakuten Saiban: Mask Vision Murder Case) for sale in the US and say it has options for both english and japanese language.

Karmillo 02-15-2006 12:39 PM

There are so many games I wish could be translated, like jump superstars :frown:
Heard that since different publishers hold the rights to all the shonen characters then you couldnt translate the game under one publisher...

So whos the publisher and developer for this game? Is it any big ones?

I think the game is actually coming out on that date!

All online retailers have now changed the date to 31st of March!

Funktion 03-16-2006 06:53 PM

Great news. The official website for the game has now an English language section, which probably means the game will have an English language edition.
Check out the English section of the website for some info on the game (and some cool desktop themes):

The DS Lite is out in japan already, you can import it for $200 USD.

Should be out in the US in may or so (not sure about other countries). I'm waiting patiently for it so I can play Phoenix Wright, which looks amazing.

Eivind 03-23-2006 01:22 PM

Oh well, better learn Japanese, then. Or maybe Niko could come up with an online course here on the forums? :p
