Culpa Innata Install Problem

Super :)
I will as soon as I get home from work!

Edit:
Worked great - downloading right now. :)

Edit 2:
Hmm, after downloading all files 2 times, it still says a file is corrupt, when installing.
Will try one last time... (already mailed support)

Edit 3:
No go - as soon as I hit the last button to make it install, it comes with a little popup saying:
Runtime error (at 16: 992):
The source file is corrupted

When I click OK - the install starts, but can't finish.
It's random when it stops, this time it was at the file MainMenu.sfs

Heh. This is so ironic... just after you posted about downloading & installing 8 games without a hitch. I'm hopeful there's a solution to this though...

misslilo 03-09-2009 10:42 AM

Right :)
I already have the first version - but...what can I say?

I'm an addict - and it's new, LOL :D

Damon 03-09-2009 10:47 AM

Hi Miss Lilo,

I don't understand. We did intensive QA to release this game. I don't understand what is happening with your version.

I am currently informing tech support to get back to you NOW.

Are you using the downloader?
Have you checked that your download was complete?

Marek, you are right, this is so IRONIC.

I feel ashamed as we encounter so many issues with the launch of this title... :\

misslilo 03-09-2009 10:59 AM

Hey, no sweat! That's what happens :)

I tried the downloader, don't care much for it.
And yes, the downloads were complete - all 3 times.

Could it be that I have too fast a connection - it downloaded with 1.90-2.10 MB/sec?

Edit:
I wonder if it makes a difference where I save the files to?
I always save to an external USB harddrive.

When I right click and check the size for the files, is says:
setup_1.bin : 943 MB (989.529.472 byte)
setup_2.bin : 1,65 GB (1.780.341.041 byte)
setup.exe : 458 KB (469.974 byte)

Damon 03-09-2009 11:46 AM

Have you tried to install games from your c:/

misslilo 03-09-2009 11:51 AM

You mean I should download to my C: drive and install from there?

Well, I'm willing to give it try, but I'll soon run out of downloads :)

Oh and I'll use the downloader for it.

Edit:
Nope - still no luck.

This time I checked and made sure the downloader transfer setting was binary and not ACSII.
I have UAC disabled, Defender disabled and no Anti/Spyware installed at the moment.

This is just weird!

Edit 2:
Will have to leave for tonight - bedtime :)

Culpa Innata Install Problem

Hi, I am getting the same error when trying to install Culpa Innata (uncut). It says "Runtime error (at 16 : 992): The source file is corrupted". If I click ok, then it continues installing but then other errors pop up stating that files are corrupted. I downloaded the full set of files twice, once with the downloader and once without it but still get the same error.

I e-mailed tech support and hoping that they will be able to help. Thanks.

misslilo 03-10-2009 03:05 AM

Phew, thank god! :)

Well, I mean of course I'm sorry for you, but it shows it's not from my end something is wrong :D

darkom 03-10-2009 05:30 AM

I have exactly the same problem. I just bought the game yesterday. What should I do? This is really annoying issue...

misslilo 03-10-2009 05:59 AM

They are aware of it, so I guess we'll have to let them solve the issue with corrupt files.

Or maybe they only gets corrupt during the download... no one knows yet.

Edit:
Heard from support - they said: alerted our packaging team and they are going to examine this issue in priority.

darkom 03-10-2009 08:50 AM

I think they should start using md5 checksums like all open source projects do. That way at least we could validate if download was corrupted or no. Another option is to compress all files with rar with included recovery data so that we can later unpack them and recover if needed using unrar utillity.

There are tons of ways of resolving this. Downloading bare files is just not safe enough...

misslilo 03-10-2009 09:15 AM

I agree - but I'm guessing they do it this way for those, that don't know how to extract files.

Hello,

It should be working fine now. One of file posted on the server did not replicated. We replaced the file yesterday.

All users should have been informed.

The download count is set to zero now.

have fun with the game.

misslilo 03-10-2009 10:49 AM

Success! :D

Redownloaded from the web, where updated links are.
No errors, the install started right away.
Now just to see if the game works the way it's supposed to :)

Damon 03-10-2009 10:50 AM

It should be fine now...

I keep my fingers crossed

misslilo 03-10-2009 11:01 AM

Ok, installed and activated and runs just fine :D

Thanks for the great support Damon :)

Oh and btw, it looks awesome.
Not sure if my memory serves me right, but looks like the main menu has changed!?

@darkom
I didn't get any email.

I just logged into my account at the shop and downloaded the files from there after Damon posted here.
Try it :)
