I think maybe SONY and Microsoft have something to do with the popularity of consoles??? #&#$&$# Microsoft pays every developer studio and publisher a lot of $$$$$$ to port the title to XBOX (Lucasarts Knight of the old republic 1 and 2, and DOOM 3 plus many more...)
