Dear Esther be a success. I don't care about semantical arguments over what is and is not a game. For me, it's either an exploration game or a game-like story experience, putting it into a box is irrelevant.
I think it bodes well for adventure gaming in general. This, plus the Double Fine thing recently, gives me hope.
